We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 No Kill shelter which receives no funding from Mower County, the City of Austin MN (shelter location) or the state. All funding is through adoption fees, donations and fundraisers. All funding goes to care of animals, zero payroll. We work with local law enforcement and the city pound so that no animals are euthanized once their hold time expires and they are unclaimed. Our average population runs about 30 dogs and 130 cats. In addition to rescuing and sheltering animals, we partner with local vet to sponsor periodic reduced cost spay/neuter clinics, and six times per year we host an on site visit of the MNSnap.org mobile surgical vet unit which provides reduced cost spay/neuters. We are small in numbers , but huge in heart and dedication.

Rabbit Rescue of MN is different than many other rescues as we take in sick, abused, neglected, abandoned and unwanted domestic rabbits from the public, other rescues and animal control. We fundraise in order to provide proper vetting and then focus on rehabilitation to ready our rabbits for their forever homes. All of our rescue rabbits are cared for in private foster homes where they are properly housed and receive love and socialization. Prior to adoption we screen our applicants thoroughly utilizing background checks and home visits. Included in our mission is education about proper housing, diet and medical care for first time rabbit families. Our rescue rabbits are all spayed, neutered and microchipped prior to adoption.

We are a group of dedicated animal lovers who want to make a difference in the lives of animals and humans. Our vision is to sustain a shelter and foster based rescue by taking in pregnant animals in need whose adoption fees will support the most vulnerable of animals in their journey to their forever home. While our focus is senior animals in need as they are often over-looked and undervalued as a whole, our business model will allow us to serve many younger animals in need of finding loving forever homes - we never leave a family member behind; if we take a pregnant mother - we take dad too. Senior, abused, stray and abandoned animals are among the most vulnerable of animals and are often times in need of immediate medical attention, we will provide medical care to ensure they have the opportunity to live their best life. In many cultures around the world younger generations consider it an honor to "take-care" of the elderly generation in their twilight years - and so it is at Generations Ranch, Rescue & Sanctuary. We value the wisdom of the older generation and want to serve and find ways to include them in everything we do. We will strive to educate communities in ways to help animals and we will never stop learning and seeking advice / help from our peers and those who have made an indelible mark in the rescue community.

Matty's Heart & Soul Animal Rescue

Minnesota

Matty's story: I started to see Matty's picture posted on the MG Impound Dogs page in late October of 2012. Matty and his "mate", Athena, were in jail for bite quarantine. They were playing and a lady got scratched by either a tooth or a claw, and they could not determine by which dog. The owners knew Athena and Fatty (Matty's actual name from owner, Cheryl changed it because he was no Fatty) were there, but they didn't have the funds to pay for fees and vetting. Athena was rescued. From the time I saw Matty's picture, the one where he is sitting on Cheryl's shoes, I knew I needed him. I asked numerous big and small rescues if they would please pull Matty for me. Their answers were all the same, we have a blue Pit Bull you can adopt. No, it had to be Matty! Matty's time was coming near and they scheduled a euthanasia date. I was in tears daily. Finally, though, last minute, the day before he was to be killed, Amber from One of a Kind Pet Rescue said she would pull him for me! I was ecstatic! I picked Matty up from the impound on January 2nd, 2013. He wasn't perfect, but he was perfect for me...and he didn't become a statistic....he is truly my heart & soul. He brought Cheyenne and I out of a deep depression over losing Teddy, my Chow Chow, to Lymphoma. Matty started my learning journey into rescue. I havent been in very long. I have held many roles ( vetting, intake, foster, events and fundraising coordinator to just name a few) in the rescues I have been in, and I have fostered about 100 puppies. I was blinded, ignorant of all that was happening prior to Matty. My blinders were lifted, Matty and I, with some friends would like to make a bigger impact. Help more dogs and cats find their second chance at love and life just like Matty did. Wont you help us? Matty's Heart & Soul Animal Rescue. Mission is to bring hope back to the discarded, abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs and cats, and provide them with all they need in a loving foster family until they find their perfect forever home. To be their voice and right all wrongs.

We are a new organization being established by experienced rescue people and individuals with broad relationships and a network with local animal shelters/impounds and vet clinics. Collectively in our Board's experience we have temperament tested, pulled from euthanasia lists from local shelters/impounds and place in appropriate and proper foster/adoptive homes well over 500 animals during our rescue careers. We are starting The Rescue Crew to focus primarily on the local, most urgent, animals in need of rescue commitment to avoid imminent euthanasia. The Rescue Crew is educational and charitable in that we instruct, train and raise awareness amongst the public and potential fosters/adopters about the importance of animal rescue and safety. This includes: 1). educating the public about general care, appropriate healthy nutrition, spay/neuter, normal temperament and routine behavior patterns of companion animals; and 2). provide educational materials and research-based information to the community and conducting public events, adoption clinics, information booths, and other public events in order to help end pet overpopulation and save companion animals' lives. We are charitable by the reducing the burden of government and prevent cruelty to animals by 1). providing rescue, shelter, food and veterinary care for companion animals in situations that are abusive, endangering, or neglectful; 2). to help end pet overpopulation by supporting spay/neuter efforts; and 3). to prevent animal homelessness by filing companion animals in need loving forever homes.
