We specialize in bully breeds (pit bulls, American bulldogs, pit mixes, bull terriers, etc.) because they are a misunderstood breed. We want to give them the chance they deserve by offering education to the public and encouraging all adopters to learn about the breed before committing to adoption.

We are a small Missouri Non Profit all breed dog rescue. We currently pull dogs and puppies from high kill shelters as well as owner surrenders, get them fully vetted prior to finding them adoptive homes. We are working to bring down the pet over poplulation problem and slow down the euthansia rate.

Who We Are: <p> HELP Humane Society: HELP Humane Society Inc. is a non-profit organization currently run by a small group of animal lovers in Cass County, MO (just south of Kansas City). <p> All HELP animals are treated by veterinarians receive age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, spayed/neutered and those incoming after Oct 2005, have been micro chipped. Cats have been Feluk/FIV tested and are negative unless otherwise stated. Dogs have been heartworm tested and are on heartworm preventative. <p> HELP now has a true no-kill shelter. HELP does not take in any owner relinquished animals. HELP rescues stray dogs and cats from the streets. We have been told by many adopters that the reason they liked adopting form us is because we have a happy place and all the cats are the friendliest ones they had ever met. HELP feels that ALL animal’s are worth saving. We have many FIV and FeLV+ and feral cats in our care. They will live with us until they end their life’s journey or find a permanent home. <p> Currently we are in a financial crisis and desperately need more funding to continue our mission. We are also currently in need of foster homes. The more foster homes we have, the more pets we can help. We also need more volunteers and a grant writer. Of course donations of money and/or pet supplies are most helpful. <p> Our regular monthly meetings are at 7:00pm, the 1st Tuesday of each month. We place older dogs in the homes of older people in the St Louis area. We have found this relationship is very beneficial to the dog as well as people. There is medical evidence that older people with dogs are healthier and happier than those without a dog.

MOGS is located in Kansas City, MO. Our focus is German Shepherds but we will help GSD Mixes and other breeds as we are able to do so.
