We are a county run animal shelter dedicated to helping the community and providing a safe environment for all of our residents. We attempt to control the feral animal population in the most humane ways available.

We are the Volunteers of the York County Animal Shelter. We do all of our work to benefit the dogs and cats at the shelter. We socialize, walk and groom the animals available for adoption. We also assist potential adopters and give the animals all the love they need!

Richardson Rescue, located in York, SC, is a non-profit animal adoption agency dedicated to preserving the sanctity of animal life. While trying to find a forever home for every pet that comes to us, we strive to give owners a better education on pet care, prevent pet neglect/abuse and provide a low cost spay/neuter program for those that can't afford it. Richardson Animal Rescue is a 501C3, non profit, publicly funded rescue.

We are an approved non-profit corporation with the state of South Carolina. We have received our 501(c)(3) status from the IRS. There is no public shelter to visit. Instead, our companion animals are lovingly cared for in one of our approved foster homes where they can more readily adjust to a family/home environment. It is our goal to place as many as we can in forever homes with people that appreciate the nobility and undying loyalty that is characteristic to the breed. All of our dogs are vet-checked upon rescue, spayed or neutered, brought up to date on all vaccinations and tested for heartworms. They are also temperament tested, checked for food aggression, compatibility with other dogs as well as children, and socialized extensively before being placed on our adoption list.

We are a new organization, only recently submitting our paperwork for the Federal 501(c)3. We have all volunteered with other rescue organizations and have spent years doing personal rescues. We are completely foster-based, believing small, foster-based rescues have a place in the rescue/shelter universe. We do rescue because we can't turn our backs on the animals we come across in need.

We are a non-profit organization whose mission it is to rescue, rehab and rehome the homeless basset hounds of the Carolinas. All dogs are sterilized, vaccinated and vetted prior to adoption. All pets are to be returned to us for rehoming if the family is ever to give up their pet

I have been doing rescue for about 3 years now. We do it because of the severe problem with abuse, neglect, and animals being turned it. We are for educating the public about animals. We will be going to the schools next year and teaching the kids. (Start with them and they will influence the parents) We want to protect animals because people seem to think they are just items and not living animals with feelings. We take in dogs from abuse and neglect situations. We take in dogs from high kill shelters, and we also take in some strays.

We are a selterless rescue group that rescues and fosters animals in our own homes. We are in the process of building a small, private shelter that can be open to the public during most daytime hours.
