The Alternative Humane Society is a foster-only, 501(c)3 rescue organization. We are an all-volunteer, nonprofit animal welfare organization serving Whatcom County, Washington, helping animals and educating the public since 1977 We have no shelter, office, or paid staff and rely on private donations to help run our organization. Our programs include Canine and Feline Foster & Adoption, Spay & Neuter Assistance, and Community Cats Information and Referral. Mission Statement: The Alternative Humane Society of Whatcom County is an all-volunteer, non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to improving the lives of dogs and cats and helping them find and stay in permanent loving homes. Our goals are: • To make Whatcom County a community where no healthy animals are euthanized • To prevent unwanted dog and cat births through spay and neuter assistance • To cultivate respect and awareness for the needs of animals through education • To advocate for the humane treatment of dogs and cats in all areas of life

CHEW Dog Rescue was created to help with over crowding of Shelters and community dogs that have been abandoned. I have volunteered for 9 years and focus on pregnant moms to be and discarded puppies. We pull from Shelters and our surrounding community. Moms and pups get the medical attention they need, are socialized, vaccinated and adopted out when they are old enough. Our Moms are all spayed before they are adopted. I love making a positive difference in these dogs lives and giving them a good foundation so they can find their forever homes and be a joy to own.

CVAS has been surviving the animals and community for 20 years! We only adopt altered animals, with full vaccinations, de-wormed, and microchipped. We are 100% funded by donations and adoption fees. I am the president and have been a volunteer for CVAS for 6yrs. I put in 60+ hrs a week, plus foster and major donor.

We help as many beloved dogs as we can from all over the US, China & Korea & we do not discriminate against breed. We vet them fully then dedicate our lives to finding them their best forever home. We love these babies & they mean everything to us.

We are a group determined to improve the lives of cats through spay/neuter, fostering, adoption, proper care.

WCHS values the human/animal bond, provides stewardship for homeless pets, and promotes compassionate treatment of all companion animals. We promote ethical pet care and training. We also offer several assistance programs to help pet owners meet their pets needs.

Rescuing and rehabilitating aquatic animals and reptiles facing neglect or abuse and providing them with the best opportunity for a permanent home and a lifetime of safety.

Rescue Unleashed is a nonprofit formed by a small group of volunteers. Passionate, inspired, animal lovers. Between us we have over 20+ years of combined animal foster and rescue experience. These experiences led us to want to do even more within the global animal community. Rescue Unleashed will be utilized to support animal welfare and rescue groups in the United States and across the globe, with an emphasis on executing high impact rescues and volunteer activities each year.

Kitty Kat Haven believes in giving local adult cats with special needs or who are considered adoption-challenged a second chance at life. Through a safe, loving, and clean environment, we help restore the emotional and physical health of the cats under our care. By educating our community on the importance of respecting cats from all stages of life, we promote adoption and foster programs.

Paws 2 Heart is a non profit 501c3 Rescue group of volunteers. We are a foster based rescue focusing on abused, neglected and abandoned dogs/cats focusing on dogs that have been in shelters overlooked or unadopted for over 4 months. Animals are our lifes focus and passion.
