We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 No Kill shelter which receives no funding from Mower County, the City of Austin MN (shelter location) or the state. All funding is through adoption fees, donations and fundraisers. All funding goes to care of animals, zero payroll. We work with local law enforcement and the city pound so that no animals are euthanized once their hold time expires and they are unclaimed. Our average population runs about 30 dogs and 130 cats. In addition to rescuing and sheltering animals, we partner with local vet to sponsor periodic reduced cost spay/neuter clinics, and six times per year we host an on site visit of the MNSnap.org mobile surgical vet unit which provides reduced cost spay/neuters. We are small in numbers , but huge in heart and dedication.

Solano County Animal Care Division is responsible for the care of all stray, injured and owner surrendered animals for the seven surrounding cities: Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield, Rio Vista, Suisun City, Vacaville, and Vallejo. We are devoted and dedicated to the service of our residents and welfare of all animals residing in Solano County. We strive to go above and beyond for the animals in our care and community. One of our goals and mission is to place a positive light on the negative stigma that surrounds a county shelter. As the office supervisor, I pride myself in the work that I do on and off hours for my community, the animals, and my team. I am proud to work along side my teammates who are just as hard working and passionate at what they do and why.

I am a 53 year old woman who has rescued animals all of my life. As a child i constantly picked up strays to re-home. This continued into my adult life. I rescued my first dog from a fight ring and drug house in 2013. Samson was the first dog i owned in 14 years. He was also the best dog I ever owned. Samson was a mastiff/shar-pei mix. His brother Memphis came along in a couple of months. In 2016 Samson was poisoned. I spent every day and over 2,000 dollars trying to save him. By the time we figured out what was going on. It was too late. I began to educate myself on dog poisoning and breed selection. Samson never hurt anyone. This led me to the world of animal rescues. Though I know i will never have Samson back on earth. If I can save one dog and educate people about breed selection and dog poisoning. Then I feel as if Samson would be proud.

McLean County Animal Control is a self-supporting (non tax payer funded) program designed to promote and protect public and animal safety in a variety of ways, including: - Prevention and control of rabies through rabies vaccination registration and bite investigations - Enforcement of county and state animal control and welfare laws - In certain circumstances, the collection of stray animals - Collection of bats within a home - Adoption of eligible animals to responsible homes - Promoting responsible pet ownership through education and community outreach

Riverview Rescue is a licensed no-kill 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue located in Leavenworth, Kansas. We specialize in Siberian Huskies, German Shepherds, and Alaskan Malamutes but are dedicated to rescuing all dogs regardless of breed. Matty's story: I started to see Matty's picture posted on the MG Impound Dogs page in late October of 2012. Matty and his "mate", Athena, were in jail for bite quarantine. They were playing and a lady got scratched by either a tooth or a claw, and they could not determine by which dog. The owners knew Athena and Fatty (Matty's actual name from owner, Cheryl changed it because he was no Fatty) were there, but they didn't have the funds to pay for fees and vetting. Athena was rescued. From the time I saw Matty's picture, the one where he is sitting on Cheryl's shoes, I knew I needed him. I asked numerous big and small rescues if they would please pull Matty for me. Their answers were all the same, we have a blue Pit Bull you can adopt. No, it had to be Matty! Matty's time was coming near and they scheduled a euthanasia date. I was in tears daily. Finally, though, last minute, the day before he was to be killed, Amber from One of a Kind Pet Rescue said she would pull him for me! I was ecstatic! I picked Matty up from the impound on January 2nd, 2013. He wasn't perfect, but he was perfect for me...and he didn't become a statistic....he is truly my heart & soul. He brought Cheyenne and I out of a deep depression over losing Teddy, my Chow Chow, to Lymphoma. Matty started my learning journey into rescue. I havent been in very long. I have held many roles ( vetting, intake, foster, events and fundraising coordinator to just name a few) in the rescues I have been in, and I have fostered about 100 puppies. I was blinded, ignorant of all that was happening prior to Matty. My blinders were lifted, Matty and I, with some friends would like to make a bigger impact.
