The seed for The Barking Lot was planted a few years back when I took in my first foster dog, Patti Cake, in hopes of making a bigger impact by helping my favorite furry friends. Before I knew it, I was put on some rescue email list and received an email stating, "This dog to be put down on Tuesday at 3pm". I was utterly horrified and jumped into action figuring out how I could save her. Well, I did and I'm glad to report Raspberry (my nephew named her!) is living happily in Encinitas to this day! After getting her adopted, I thought, "That wasn't so tough." And so it goes...over 900 dogs adopted into loving home and 3 years later...we have The Barking Lot. As well as being wonderful companions, dogs are amazing teachers and we've learned so much from them...first and foremost that they all deserve a chance at a better life and their behavior will balance beautifully if their needs are meet and good leadership is applied. These pups will be the most grateful creatures you've encountered. We rescue our furry friends from area shelters, humane societies and Mexico as they are at risk of being euthanized and/or abandoned. We are a small organization with a handful of key volunteers and we are just getting started as a 501c3 non-profit, so we're looking for more volunteers to add to the fun and reward! We are a small group, headed by a dog trainer and a pet groomer who want to help small breed dogs that find themselves without a home. We save dogs from shelters when they are on their last day. We pull from mainly high-kill shelters and those that sell to research. ALL our animals reside in fosters homes until adoption.

Labradors and Friends Dog Rescue Group, Inc. is an animal rescue group dedicated to rescuing labrador retrievers and labrador mixed breed dogs in Southern California and placing them in loving homes.

K-9 Lifesavers, a 501c(3) non-profit organization, rescues homeless and abandoned dogs from high-kill shelters, owners who can no longer care for them, and other high-risk situations. K-9 Lifesavers works with dedicated volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and kennels to provide loving temporary care while we find well-matched, carefully screened forever homes for each dog we take in. We also serve as a support group to our adopters and all dog owners by providing ongoing education and resources for the well-being of their dogs, including the importance of proactive spay/neuter policies, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue's mission is to provide shelter and loving care for animals who have been abused, abandoned, owner surrendered or otherwise destined to be euthanized due to over-crowded shelter conditions. At no time shall they be euthanized due to time constraints, medical need or other issues. Through the use of foster homes, Proverbs will provide loving care for our animals. This includes veterinary care, food and any other necessity until responsible, loving homes can be found for all adoptable pets. All animals shall be spayed or neutered and we will make every effort to encourage those we encounter to do the same.

Cooper's Chance Animal Rescue, a national, 501c3 nonprofit, all volunteer animal rescue. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home unwanted, abused and neglected animals. We rescue all animals and are not breed specific. We also focus our efforts on larger dogs or elderly dogs in need of extra care. We are not a shelter and do not accept strays, all of our rescued pets are placed into loving foster homes and receive one on one attention, complete vet care, training and socialization. We also educate the public on proper and responsible pet ownership through nonprofit partnerships, public education programs and grass root efforts within communities. Currently we are striving to raise funds to initiate the building of the country's first eco friendly and environmentally sustainable no kill shelter! This awesome facility, open to the public, will offer not only a clean, safe place for animals of all shapes and sizes...we will be working to save our planet too! A completely Green Building, we will reuse and recycle everything we can to insure our paw print on earth is minimal.

The Calhoun County Humane Society, Inc. (dba The Animal Shelter), located in Anniston, Alabama, was established in 1973 as a result of the efforts of Susan Levens Phillips. Our mission is **To provide the pets in our care with a decent, safe and sanitary place; **To prevent cruelty to animals; **To stop suffering among animals mutilated or injured; **To educate the public about the tremendous pet over-population facing the United States; **To promote spaying and neutering to stop the senseless killing of animals; **To place as many pets as possible in responsible homes.
