We are dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for whatever reason – dogs in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. We work with local and rural shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets.

We are advocates for the outcasts, a voice for the unwanted. We believe all dogs deserve a loving home and just like people, they all deserve a second chance at happiness.

Columbia Humane Society is a No-Kill non-profit shelter dedicated to helping friends find each other since 1985. We are a non-profit independent organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for companion animals. We are supported solely by shelter income, our group fundraising efforts, and donations.

A small group of volunteers..no paid employees. Our dogs are in area foster homes or they are housed at Rose's..in a heated pole building with a "bedroom" (toddler beds, a chair and a radio..so they can keep up on current events) with a dog door to a small fenced area to potty in through out the day and night. Then they get to play in a four acre fenced in area and swim in the pond every day too! We do not have a "shelter" per se and only under special circumstances are any of our animals "kenneled". They are very well socialized with people and other animals, which makes it much easier to know their temperaments. We do NOT take owner surrenders. But we will do courtesy posts for pets that are vetted and in need of homes. OUR MISSION STATEMENT Rose's Rescue is an all breed rescue for dogs and cats. We primarily concentrate on local pound rescues as we feel these are the animals in the most dire need of a second chance. We are committed to finding the best possible home for each, and every animal that comes into our rescue and we are available to help with any training or behavioral issues for the life of each animal. Rose's Rescue requires that any animal adopted through our organization be returned to us if for any reason the family is no longer able to care for them. Rose's Rescue is also committed to educating the public on the importance of spay and neuter, routine vaccinations, heartworm protection for dogs, and aids and leukemia testing for cats. According to the Humane Society of American over 4 million dogs, cats, kittens and puppies are killed each year. It is our goal to some day see no adoptable pets euthanized. Every two months, Rose’s Rescue chooses a few special candidates for a new class of dogs to be trained at the Trumbull Correctional Institution near Warren, Ohio. While enrolled in this program, each dog will be trained by selected inmates and overseen by professional dog trainer Bill Oliver (www.customcaninecompany.com) who generously volunteers his time with this laudable project. Upon completion of their training, cell dogs will have learned important socialization skills, have mastered basic obedience commands, and be fully housebroken. They will also be taught tricks to entertain their future families and friends, such as sitting pretty, playing dead, and give a high five. All dogs can be visited (by appointment and accompanied by a Rose’s Rescue representative) while at the prison. They can be adopted upon graduation, or occasionally sooner if a dog has done exceptionally well and is deemed ready to leave before the class is actually finished. Ozark Homeward Bound is a non-profit organization created in June 2010 to address the abandoned and neglected dogs and cats in north central Arkansas. We do not have a shelter, but depend on foster volunteers to care for our dogs and cats while they await adoption. OHB will spay/neuter each cat or dog, give them all age-appropriate vaccinations and treat them for parasites before they leave for their fur-ever homes. We do require an adoption application with references to insure the best homes for our fur kids. Close attention is given to matching the needs of a pet to the adoptive family. Not all who apply are approved. Donations are always needed, and always appreciated. We also accept Honorarium and Memorial contributions.

The Trinity Girls Awareness Program, or GAP Club, is an organization, which not only focuses on girls' issues, but also makes them aware of their community and hopefully makes them better students and citizens. As part of the community awareness, we have been the official sponsor of the Euless Animal Shelter for the past six years. It is our goal to help the shelter adopt pets and find forever homes or fosters so they will not be put down. We do this through networking, pet adoption sites, and raising funds to lower the cost of spaying/neutering, in addition to vaccinating the shelter pets for parvo and distemper. We have also helped with heartworm treatment and various other medical costs of animals in need. Our sponsors visit the shelter at least once a week to update pictures, shots, and check on the dogs and cats. We take the GAP girls twice a month so they can volunteer and understand why we sponsor pets and have fund-raises. The shelter's euthanasia rate has dropped dramatically since we have been working with them. We owe a lot of this to networking and the internet. I personally get a lot of satisfaction out of working with the shelter and the animals because the animals can't help themselves and they seem so genuinely grateful when you give them even just the littlest bit of attention and love. The best feeling is when you see a family or single person find that "perfect" pet that they have been looking for and the animal has found a wonderful forever home!
