SPCA PETS SNAP of Montgomery County believes passionately in a community where animals are valued, treated with respect and kindness and provided with a secure and loving quality of life. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit all volunteer based organization that serve the citizens and animals of Montgomery County. To accomplish our mission we will... · Rescue and rehabilitate homeless animals providing a safe haven for the animals until a suitable adoptive home is found or until they are reunited with their owner through our "Save More Lives" program. · Through our "Humane Education and Public Awareness" program further the cause of responsible animal ownership, the great need to reduce the pet population by spaying or neutering their pets and encourage a stronger bond between people and their pets. · Provide a limited number of low-cost spay/neuter services for the people unable to afford to spay or neuter their pets otherwise through our "Last Litter" program. We are not an open admissions organization and we have a "no-kill policy for healthy, treatable and adoptable animals. VISION We understand that fulfilling our vision will mean a partnership with the entire community and all of our stakeholders. We envision a county where each companion animal finds a permanent and compassionate home, where communities are enriched by the special bond between people and animals, where cruelty no longer exists and where each home practices responsible pet ownership, including spaying and neutering their pets. With this clear and unified understanding of our purpose, direction and path we set out our core values: We are guided by the belief that no adoptable or treatable companion animal should be unnecessarily euthanized due to space, time, looks or breed. · STEWARDSHIP: We manage and allocate all our resources to remain steadfast to our mission, to achieve the greatest good, and to ensure the future of our organization. · QUALITY CARE: Our actions and decisions are based on providing the best medical care and services to the most animals. We respect the life of each individual animal, while focusing on the welfare of volunteers, community, and the animal population as a whole. · COMMUNITY-FOCUSED: We enrich the community we serve by placing safe, healthy companion animals in responsible, loving homes. · RESPECT: We treat all persons and animals with dignity and respect in a non-judgmental manner. The general public, our clients, donors, volunteers, business partners, suppliers and board members are all viewed as our partners in improving animal welfare and in fulfilling our Mission. · INTEGRITY: We interact with each other and the communities we serve in a way that is respectful, fully transparent and ethical. · INNOVATION: We develop, implement and share new ideas, creative solutions and leading nonprofit practices.

Texarkana Animal League

The Texarkana Animal League has been in existence serving the pet population of Texarkana since the 1940’s in various capacities. We have been animal advocates, contracted with both of our twin cities for the running of the daily operations of the shelter, and our latest adventure returns back to our roots as advocates. As of December 2008, our organization no longer held the contract to run the local animal shelter, and with that change in direction, we have been able to approach the animal community in a completely different direction. Although operations have changed our mission has not. The Texarkana Animal League exists to provide protection and care for abandoned, abused, neglected and unwanted companion animals. We also want to promote animal welfare through programs and services that mutually benefit animals and people. We have been able to use our annual fundraiser, the “Tails of Two Cities” Day Planner to start three community-based programs. One helps low income households spay and neuter their pets and another helps current rescuers with medical costs of special needs animals. Finally, we established a foster care program to pull needy animals from the community, as well as the shelter, which will provide the extra medical attention and socialization needed in order for the animal to become adoptable. low income, Spay/Neuter Assistance Program. Along with altering the companion animal, we have included a wellness check, vaccines, and a heartworm test. This program is provided to Bowie, Cass, Little River and Miller county residents for the low cost of $50 for dogs and $35 for cats. TAL covers all expenses for this program. Prices have been negotiated for the different procedures, but the cost remains the same to the public. All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. These items will take an animal from no or nominal care to complete care and will make them highly adoptable. We have teamed up with Petfinder.com and PetSmart Charities to promote our adoptable animals.

adoptions2pawsup@gmail.com
Who We Are: 2PawsUp started in early 2007 when a small group of volunteers began helping to transport animals from the Harnett County Animal Control Facility to people who wanted to adopt but could not make it to the shelter themselves. After months of this service, we expanded our services to a full adoption agency. We are now a recognized non-profit, 501c3 organization in the state of North Carolina. We are a devoted team of animal-loving philanthropists with a desire to make a difference in the North Carolina community. Our Mission: 2PawsUp's mission is to save animals on death row in high kill shelters; provide any needed medical care; and find loving, safe forever homes for each and every animal. 2PawsUp also seeks to raise the awareness of overpopulation and high euthanasia rates in North Carolina, and to help stop the endless cycle of animals ending up in shelters by spaying and neutering every animal that comes through the 2PawsUp program. Why We Are Different: As a future pet owner, you are probably looking for an adoption agency that is right for you. Each rescue group should have something that appeals to different groups of people, so everyone can find their future pet. This is what makes us different from other rescue organizations: ·· Our main focus is shelter pets. Most rescue groups focus on stray animals before they end up in the shelter. We try to help as many animals that are in imminent danger of being put down. We do accept animals from elsewhere as well, but high-kill shelters are our main focus. ·· Our adoption fees vary between animals, as we try to keep our adoption fees as low as possible. We do not charge you for something we did not provide. For example, if a dog came into the shelter already neutered, the cost of that neuter will NOT be included in his adoption fee. For more information about our adoptions, the feed, and the typical process please view our Adoption page.
