Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

We are an all volunteer network that strive to end pet overpopulation through spay and neuter and TNR. We rescue kittens that are otherwise euathanized at the shelter. I feel that you should do things in life that you enjoy and love to do. Finding forever homes for these voiceless creatures brings me so much joy.

We've done rescue for 15 yrs, 501(c)(3) for 12 yrs. We love dogs and try to find the most stable, loving homes possible. We believe in quality of adoptions, not quantity. In other words, each adoption is a lengthy process and applicants are screened to the best of our ability. Dogs are thoroughly vetted and groomed before they are adopted.

Cold Wet Noses is a small group of individuals who take in the dogs that are going to be euthanized on any given day. We do this, when we can (when we have room for them), from Pima Animal Care Center (PACC).(we apologize we can only take in animals from the county shelter off of there rescue list) We bear all of the cost for spaying or neutering, micro-chipping, health care and shots . We're just a bunch of dog lovers who are trying to help as many furry souls as we can. The animals live with us so we know their personally and what would be the best fit for them. All of our Dogs and Cats our part of our family and we want that for them at your home. WE DO NOT ADOPT OUT DOGS TO HOMES THAT WANT TO KEEP THEM OUTSIDE ALL THE TIME THEY ARE NOT YARD DOGS. We love each and every foster and we want you to do so so as well. If they arent a good match in your home we insist that they come back to us until their perfect match is found. Please help! There is a pet over-population crisis in this country. Every day thousands of healthy, adoptable pets are needlessly killed. Charlyne's Pound Puppies is a non-profit rescue group run by volunteers. Our founder, Charlyne McDaniel, began her crusade to help abandoned dogs and cats in 1995. We rescue animals from Thorndale, TX and the greater Austin surrounding areas. We do not transport pets out of state. If you adopt from us and the pet does not work into your family or lifestyle we want the pet back so they we may find the pet a good fit.

The Amarillo SPCA is a 501(c)3 non profit organization. We operate solely on donations and fundraisers. We operate a shelter for dogs and cats and have approximately 140 animals, most of which are housed at the shelter. A few live temporarily in foster homes. One of our main concerns as an organization is pet over population. It is important that the public be educated about the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. It is also our goal to make sure every animal that is adopted from the SPCA is sterilized before going to a new home. We receive calls daily from people who request help with their animals--either needing to give them up or asking for help with food and medical needs. We help whenever we can. Our kennels are full most of the time but we will try our hardest to accommodate any animal that is homeless or needing a home. Because of our own expenses, we rarely are able to help the public with pet care costs. We do provide spay and neuter vouchers for a significantly reduced fee. We also provide microchipping services to the general public for a reduced fee. We have grown to the extent that volunteers alone cannot provide necessary hours for operating the kennels. We have a shelter manager and part time employees along with volunteers who work hard maintaining the shelter. Many animals we bring into the shelter need immediate medical care, and all animals that come to us receive their shots, a microchip and sterilization before being adopted into their new homes. Frequently these expenses are far more than the adoption fee of $100. It is our duty to provide the best medical treatment possible regardless of cost for our animals--and therefore our vet bills are always very large. We have created this website to provide accessible information concerning all of the animal related organizations and events that are occuring in the Texas Panhandle as well as a resource base for those seeking advice or care for their pets. Therefore, we invite anyone who is affiliated with a particular animal welfare organization, specialized pet-owner group (such as pet therapy or obedience training,) or any business that is in the service of animals (veterinarians, groomers, pet sitters, etc.) to contact us so that we may tell the public about your organization or business. We do, however, respectfully decline to list any breeders or to promote breeding services as it is not in alignment with our mission of curbing the pet overpopulation crisis.
