Training Rescue Dogs

1626 Belle View Blvd., PO Box 7084
Virginia
22307
info@trainingrescues.org(202) 350-1149
he mission of Training Rescue Dogs, a 501(c)(3) organization, is to provide training and rehabilitation to rescue dogs. We are committed to working with other rescues and shelters to identify their dogs that need rehabilitation and then provide funding for their training. Training Rescue Dogs will locate and hire competent, experienced trainers who will evaluate and rehabilitate these dogs so they will successfully transition into homes where they can thrive and provide their families with years of companionship and joy. Many wonderful dogs who are searching for their “forever family” never find one because they display undesirable, but easily corrected, behavioral challenges. Some dogs, because of abuse, neglect, inadequate training or no training at all, never learn the social skills they need to be good companion dogs. Through no fault of their own, they might behave aggressively, defensively or fearfully. Tragically, these dogs are then passed over by rescue organizations, not offered for adoption by shelters and then euthanized. This is a terrible loss, both for the dogs and for the many potential families who could have welcomed and loved such an animal. Training and rehabilitation for these dogs is an unmet need among most animal rescues and shelters. We seek to fill this need by raising money for these often invisible and forgotten dogs. At Training Rescue Dogs, we don’t believe in giving up on dogs; we believe in giving them the future.

We were formed to assist Tazewell County Animal Control - a high kill shelter in Tremont IL. We work to advertise the available animals, and partner with other rescue groups locally and in Chicago to transport the animals into the no kill shelters or rescue groups. We provide (Pro bono) veterinary services such as FElV/FIV testing, heart worm testing, vaccinating, etc. at the shelter to assist in the transfer to the other rescues. We attend local events and distribute information about the adoptable animals, local spay/neuter programs, and low cost wellness clinics. We plan to hold low cost rabies vaccination clinics in the near future.

We are a group of friends and long time rescuers, working together for years. We have seen both the good & bad in rescue and have decided to band together to capitalize on the good and work for ONLY the well being of the dogs, not the glory. While we are an ALL dog rescue, our hearts are still with our pitties! We aim to save dogs not only from kill shelters but rescue them from the abusive, neglectful & horrid situations our precious pups find themselves in way too often. We will never turn our back on a dog in need!

Every Dog Counts Rescue

PO Box 24786
Indiana
46224
everydogcountsrescue@gmail.com(317) 300-4332
We are an all-volunteer, all-breed rescue located in the Indianapolis area. We do not have a shelter facility, so all animals are cared for in foster care until adopted. We primarily pull dogs and cats from Indianapolis Animal Care and Control, which is the municipal shelter in Indianapolis. We specialize in pulling dogs who are seriously injured or ill. We also take many senior animals. We also have a feral cat sanctuary at the home of our director. Since we take many senior, sick and injured dogs, our average veterinary cost per animal in 2014 was approximately $500. We saved approximately 250 animals, with vet costs of over $120,000, funded through donations. We truly believe every animal counts, and have been fortunate to grow our organization to help the ones who have the least amount of time to get out of the shelter; the sick and injured. We believe if an animal has a potential to still have a good quality of life, they deserve a chance.

Help A Dog Smile

Phoenix
Arizona
85067
admin@helpadogsmile.org
Help A Dog Smile (HADS as we fondly call it) is a 501(c)3 non-profit Arizona corporation. We find loving homes for stray dogs and dogs on euthanasia lists at kill shelters throughout the state. At this time we do not take owner turn ins. We are simply too small and do not have the resources. Once we determine that the animal has no owner (if it is a stray) we place the dog in a boarding facility or foster home where the dog can receive the tender loving care he or she desperately needs. This always requires a veterinary check up, vaccinations, and usually a spay or neuter surgery. Once the animal is healthy, we seek a loving home where he or she can live out their life in happiness.
