Kizzy's Place Inc

Sicklerville
New Jersey
08081
info@kizzysplace.com(856) 238-1229
Kizzy's Place began in September of 2015 when a cat from the South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter named "Skidz" caught the eye of our founders. This poor kitty had been hit by a car and had unknown injuries on top of suffering from an upper respiratory infection and was going to be euthanized if rescue didn't step up. With no rescues able to help him we decided to do it ourselves. With an offer to donate towards care, an offer to foster, and an offer to transport to the vet for much-needed medical care we were able to save this boy's life. He was renamed Kizzy and lived with founder and Director, Blake Martin until his unfortunate passing in the fall of 2019. He is the catalyst for everything we've done and we honor his legacy by how we save going forward. Since our humble beginnings, we've been able to save over 1,000 animals in the South Jersey and Philadelphia area since 2015. As a small foster-based rescue this number is staggering and something we are truly proud of. Our focus is the sick, scared, injured, and forgotten animals. This philosophy has led to some referring to us as "The Island of Misfit Cats," a nickname we proudly accept. Our goal is simple. Provide care for these forgotten animals and when they are ready find their happy ending. We are exclusively volunteer-run and donor funded and are so thankful for all of the people who have contributed towards our mission and to those who have opened their homes to some of our wonderful animals. Kizzy's Place is a place for friends.

I am the executive director of the rescue. I love dogs! I've rescued animals of all types since I was a young child. As an adult I have been given an opportunity to rescue and rehabilitate on a much larger scale. the senior and hospice pups that need extra love and care to allow them to be comfortable in the final stage of their lives. Our mission is to rescue, provide rehabilitation and training to dogs with adoption barriers until responsible, loving homes can be found. We advocate for keeping people and pets together by offering education and extensive training resources. And, when necessary, a safe place to stay. We rescue dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages with our focus being with seniors (7 years and older) and dogs in need of hospice palliative care. The foundation of our rescue is our foster base. I am also a designer and owner of a restaurant and deli that donates a % of proceeds to rescues.

I started TNR about 4 years ago when I found a feral cat colony outside of my business. As time went on, I started to bring the cats into my business in order to make sure they always had access to vetting, food and shelter. We started socializing cats and kittens in order to get them adopted and I love when we are able to find these guys amazing forever homes. Winters get very cold up here and I cannot leave a cat outside when I know I have room at my business to care for them! We have a great team of volunteers that help with feeding and socializing the cats, they will also help me with transport when I need it!

NorCal Boxer Rescue

Our Story NorCal Boxer Rescue was founded in June of 1998 due to the need for a reputable boxer rescue organization in Northern California. In the months that followed, we worked to build the organization by developing relationships with California shelters and establishing a network of foster homes and volunteers. Within the first year of operation, NCBR had obtained its federal 501(c)(3) nonprofit status and had rescued and re-homed dozens of boxers! Since NCBR’s inception, we have had the great privilege of saving the lives of thousands of boxers and providing just as many families with a loving and loyal companion! Thanks for visiting! The NCBR Family Our Mission: Leave No Boxer Behind NCBR provides a temporary sanctuary for boxers in need throughout Northern California, the Central Valley (Fresno or farther north) and around the Nevada/California state line area. We rescue boxers from shelters and from owners who are no longer able to care for them. While we aim to save every boxer in need, we prioritize the most vulnerable dogs, including those who are old, ill, injured, or housed at the shelters where the risk of euthanasia is the greatest. At a minimum, we provide each of our rescued animals with veterinary care, spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, a microchip, a temporary foster home at a private residence, lots of love, and placement into a carefully screened forever home. NCBR is run entirely by a dedicated group of volunteers who have an unmatched love for preserving this wonderful breed. We allocate nearly 100% of our adoption fees and donations directly toward the care of our boxers.
