Great Dane Rescue of Southeast Texas

Texas

Our Message R.E.S.P.E.C.T Respect. It can mean so much too so many. And it’s such a simple thing. When we think of rescued Danes, we think of the respect they deserve. They are adaptable, flexible, most of the time wonderful. They fit right in to the foster homes and their forever homes, as if they had been there all their lives. And considering circumstances some of them come from, you’d think respect would be an automatic reaction. But that doesn’t always happen. Some people who are used to the standard of the Dane say it should be about the colors they come in, or the shape they are in, or several other issues. Many of us have been at the receiving end of this problem and it hurts. We love these dogs – the ones that have come into rescue and the ones we have adopted. It’s important to remember that we didn’t breed these dogs; we didn’t have anything to do with selling these dogs. We didn’t impulsively and ignorantly purchase these dogs. We just brought these dogs into our rescue program, trying to give them a better life than they had before we knew them. That’s all. No conspiracy. The fact that some of them are blind or deaf, bear scars, have blue eyes, have brindle or fawn patches, severely malnourished, Heartworm positive or need more than the average amount of medical care, it doesn’t matter to us. We don’t have a standard for rescued Danes – most breed rescues don’t. Although we do see many beautiful show marked Danes as well. All we’re trying to do is help the situation of homeless/unwanted/neglected Danes. So, in short, we make the decisions we do base on the facts we have at hand and, also, with what’s in our hearts. If you agree that’s wonderful. If you don’t, please respect our choices, but most of all, please respect the dogs.

Off the Rocks Rescue is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to the aid of homeless cats by providing education and advocacy as well as hands on rescue. Based in St. Thomas, USVI and Wellesley, Massachusetts, we bring adoptive cats from areas of high population and facilitate their adoption into loving homes in New England. We began after the hurricanes of 2017 and offer continuity of care through seeing our cats through getting healthy, vaccinated, fixed at our rescue in St. Thomas and then traveling to our shelter in MA where they are up for adoption.

Georgia Jack Russell Rescue

Georgia
30012
gajrtapplications@gmail.com
We began several years ago as a Mom and Pop organization and foster agent for area rescues. We are now a small but mighty, all volunteer, non-profit rescue and adoption agency located in Atlanta metro area. We assist Atlanta-area shelters with re-homing abused, abandoned, neglected, unwanted or homeless Jack Russells and Jack Russell mixes, helping to place them in homes where they can live as the breed they are meant to be. We provide temporary medical and shelter for the well-being of Jack Russell Terriers who enter into the rescue system, via owner surrenders to rescues who can no longer care for their Terriers, or from animal control. We help protect the Jack Russell Terrier by educating pet owners and breeders of the special needs of this breed, preventing displaced terriers.

Dawgz, Tailz & Wagz

Phoenix
Arizona

adopt@azdawgz.org(602) 818-5541
An independent rescue, fostering at risk dogs. Foster dogs get the time they need to relax and learn to become your perfect family pet. Before you surrender your beloved pet, we will ask if we can help you keep your pet! Adoption Fees include required vaccines, parvo/distemper, rabies & bordetella, chip, spay/neuter, vetting. Adoption fees also fund pups with greater medical needs, administration costs, websites, advertising, training, food, bowls, beds, kennels, collars, leashes and spay/neuter, chip, and vaccines for parents of pups to stop the cycle of breeding. We depend heavily on our fosters and volunteers who graciously donate their time and homes to our pups. If your first question before adopting a pup is "How much are your fees?", then please do your research around the cost of bringing a new pup into your family before adopting.
