Simple Girl Doggie Haven

5422 Evans Rd
Michigan
48442
info@sgdh.dog
One girls’ mission to fight for the underdogs and make an impact in dog rescue one dog at a time. Focusing on dogs that may have physical, medical, and other special needs. Disabilities ranging from blindness, deafness, confidence, reactive, to otherwise disable dogs. Dedicated to giving these animals the best chance of survival by providing lifesaving medical or training and letting them experience what it feels to know love and compassion. With the goal of teaching them to trust, and when they are ready, find their furever home. Simple Girl Doggie Haven (SGDH) mission is to save the lives of what are considered unadoptable by most shelters.. According to the ASPCA, every year 6.5 million animals enter shelters nationwide, and of these, 1.5 million are euthanized due to time and space. With medical being high on the list due to the cost of treating these animals. The goal is to reduce companion animal homelessness (especially the unadoptable) through establishing a network within rescues and shelters; supporting the community to keep pets in their homes; reducing the number of unwanted animals with aggressive spay/neuter services; and strengthen the human-animal bond through education & outreach programs. Rescue and Adoptions Simple Girl Doggie Haven plans to partner with local animal shelters whose animals are at high risk of euthanasia both in and out of Michigan and be able to save some of their unadoptable dogs. These dogs would include but not be limited to: puppies who due to their immature immune systems are highly susceptible to illness, pregnant or nursing dams who need a safe environment to raise their babies, dogs who are struggling emotionally or physically in the shelter environment, dogs who have run out of time in the shelter system, and dogs who are in need of specialized training. SGDH will not discriminate based on breed. The organization will be foster and volunteer based. We feel that foster homes are a better option due to the one-on-one attention these dogs will be receiving. It will also help reduce overhead which will allow more of the donations we receive to be directly applied to saving dogs.

michelesrescue@gmail.com
Located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Michele’s Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue which was started in 1997. We are a no kill rescue that takes in and adopts out animals from all over the country. Most of the animals we take in are in line to be “put-down” and need rescues like ours to help them find a happy and loving home. These animals are vaccinated, microchipped, treated for parasites and fleas, heartworm tested and most importantly spayed/neutered. The only thing wrong with our animals is that they are without a family…your family.

Power Pups Rescue

Ojai
California
93023
info@powerpupsrescue.org(805) 633-0919
Power Pups Rescue is a superhero-themed 501(c)(3) non-profit dog rescue based out of Ojai, CA that aims to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home animals in need. We are 100% foster based, so we do not have public kennels for people to visit and are by-appointment only. We believe that all dogs are superheroes, just searching for their super human sidekick. We believe that training is key in providing a "better breed of rescue." That is why all of our rescue dogs must undergo an evaluation and will be placed on a training plan that will need to be followed through by any staff, fosters or volunteers. That plan is then passed on to the adopter along with a free follow up session to help them with any follow through help they might need at home once they get to know their new superhero. We do what we do because we believe that education is the key to save them all.

I rescue cats from outside or unsafe situations. I also pull kittens from the streets and TNVR the moms to help with the over population issue. I do it because the need is great and I just can not sit back and do nothing.

Starting out, our goal was to help our community Dog Pound enter into the 21st century. For many years, the city of Granby had a pre-historic pound. Over time there was what would have been considered a band aid applied to a gun shot wound, 3 makeshift stalls to hold dogs found as strays inside the city limits. No electricity, no water, the dogs had been left out in the weather. Rain, sleet , snow and hail. It isn't just the Post Office motto, it was the way of life in the pound setting. Having no animal control, proper, in the city limits, our beloved police department had to pull extra duty providing for the welfare of the dogs. With the dedication of the incredible Catherine McFadden, and the drive and determination of our Granby community funds have been raised to lay the foundation (literally) of the new Granby Dog Pound. Seeing what had been accomplished, we wanted to go a step further. We want to help the rest of our Granby community with not only the stray dogs, but we have now started with stray cats as well. We have started a TNR (Trap-neuter-return) program for the community, this is no longer confined to the city limits. The Granby Dog Pound is still operated for the dogs inside city limits, but; we in ENAC will now assist in the rural area as well. We have established contacts with other area rescues and shelters to transfer the city's homeless and neglected dogs out to loving homes. As our motto says, Rescue: It's not just a verb, it's a promise!
