Our Mission: The Primary mission of the Greenbrier Humane Society is to protect animals from neglect, abuse and exploitation: to advocate for their interest and welfare: and to inspire awareness and compassion for all living things. Our Goals: Adoption – Save as many animals as possible through adoption and foster homes by placing the animals with responsible caregivers. Spay/Neuter – Promote zero population growth through the neuter and spay of animals. Educational Programs – Educate the local community and area schools about the responsibility and rewards of owning a companion animal and facilitate the awareness and prevention of animal neglect and abuse. Cruelty/Abuse Prevention – Investigate the cruelty, abuse and neglect of animals and facilitate their rescue to the best of our ability. Responsible Pet Ownership – To ensure that state, county and city animal laws and ordinances are abided and enforced. Shelter – Provide a humane shelter for unwanted or lost animals in the local community.

We are a 501c3, NOT FOR PROFIT foster based rescue that is based in St. Charles County and services surrounding counties as well. Our organization provides rescue to dogs, cats, horses, goats, geese and ducks as well as all pocket pets. We rescue animals that are being abused and/or neglected in their homes while working with the high kill shelters in our area to pull the animals that sometimes only have minutes left before being euthanized, hence our name of NO TIME TO SPARE! Rescued animals will receive the proper medical care, including spaying or neutering and will be placed for adoption in “forever homes”. No animal in our care will ever be “put to sleep” to make room for another! Those animals that are unable to be placed will find sanctuary with us as permanent residents of No Time to Spare. We also provide temporary pet food assistance for families that are having financially difficult times, assist in temporary housing for pets of families that have lost their homes and provide several cost effective options for spaying, neutering, micro chipping and vaccines. Many animals are left to suffer on the street or are abandoned or killed by their owners. The lucky ones are taken to open-admission shelters. Many of the animals who make it to The Rainbow District Animal Shelter (an open-admission shelter) are reclaimed by their guardians or adopted into new homes.

After moving to a rural setting 16 years ago, I purchased 2 miniature horses and adopted 2. In 2007 we established the 501c3 public charity to share the our horses with disadvantaged children, expanded to include unwanted horses, and educate the public against cruelty to animals.

We are Anne Arundel County Animal Control we provide enforcement of laws pertaining to animals in Anne Arundel County, we provide adoption and redemption services for animals, we are an open admission shelter for Anne Arundel County residents.

We are a municipal shelter serving Lynn County. In an effort to end euthanasia due to overcrowding, we adopt out as many animals as possible ourselves or transfer animals out to no kill rescue groups if necessary.
