Houston Cares Animal Rescue

Texas
77035
info@HoustonCaresRescue.org
Houston Cares Animal Rescue, formerly known as Westbury CARE, is more than just a 501c3 rescue, it’s a community of animal lovers working together to make a difference for animals in Houston. What began as a small group of neighbors in Westbury, a Houston neighborhood, trying to help the animals in their area, quickly grew into a non-profit rescue because the need in Houston is so great. Despite its growth, Houston Cares has aimed to keep its community feel and is built on the idea that it will take a community of Houstonians to make change. It is estimated that there are over a million strays in Houston. We believe change will only happen through a multi prong approach including rescue, education, spay/neuter, and changes to our legislation. We believe that the more the rescue community works together and supports each other, the more the animals benefit and the more change will be seen. We are proud to be a small and growing part of the Houston rescue community. Please join our efforts through fostering, volunteering, adopting, or donating

The Un-Shelter

1051 Hartsough
Plymouth
Michigan

theunshelter@gmail.com
ABOUT US How exactly is the Un-Shelter different from the many other area and regional animal rescues/shelters? Excellent question: · We commit to a small, manageable number of adoptable animals. Period. (Welfare lingo = limited intake) We believe in highly-enriched environments, from home-like kennel spaces to outdoor play. · Our adoption process is different: the emphasis will always be on “best fit, including energy levels and personality. The process begins with a conversation, leads to several animal introductions, counseling at time of adoption (“how-tos” are important!), and ongoing help where needed. · Community is our passion! We want our space to be the hub of the wheel offering humane education, pet-related activities for children and families, social activities for pet caretakers, opportunities to connect pet-related service providers to animal guardians, and as a gathering and event space to serve a variety of community needs. We don’t want you to leave our family! · In our world, ‘community’ also extends to other similar minds, so we provide active support to other shelters and rescues in the region. Our goal is to be a leader in proactive evidence-based education and best practices for staff and volunteers at other area and state-wide shelters and rescues, both on our property and on the road.

A HOPE

5755 Washington St
Florida
32570
ahope4src@gmail.com(850) 665-0511
A HOPE of Santa Rosa County FL, Inc. came about in a very organic way. For quite some time now, several individuals have been working to make changes for the animals in our county. We care very deeply and are extremely concerned about our community cats and dogs. We are heartsick over the influx of animals coming into our local shelter, resulting in the highest euthanasia rate in our area. The fault does not lie with the shelter, however, but with our very own friends, families, and neighbors. We are devastated by the cats and dogs being abandoned in our community and the countless unaltered animals roaming our streets, propagating an already suffocating animal population. So...we decided to do something about it. We are starting out as a very small group – but we have BIG dreams. As we gain momentum and support, we aim to focus on the health of our community animals, providing low cost spay and neuter options. We will be providing resources for pet owners in need, enabling them to provide for their cats and dogs in the ways they have always wanted to. We are going to educate the community at large, teaching responsible pet ownership to go along with the resources that will be provided. In sum, we will provide A HOPE for the animals and animal-loving residents of Santa Rosa County. Please open your heart to our cause and join us in whatever capacity you are able. More than ever, our animals need us.

Liberation Cat House, Inc

Orlando
Florida
32806
liberationcathouse@gmail.com
We are a non-profit organization that exists to save the lives of at-risk cats and kittens in the Central Florida area. We also have some kitties in the Charlotte, NC are. This is primarily done through fostering those that are sick and/or medically needy until they are healthy and old enough to be placed in a forever home. We believe that saving more lives can be accomplished through educating others on the importance of spaying and neutering as well as through safe and effective trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNvR) practices. We live by the conviction that compassion for animals applies to all species, not just cats.
