Wigglin Home Boxer Rescue

PO Box 1354
Washington
98604
wigglinhomeboxerrescue@gmail.com(360) 903-6102
Wigglin Home Boxer Rescue is a non-profit, all-volunteer group of Boxer owners and lovers covering WA, OR and parts of ID. WHBR knows the great need in our community for re-homing Boxers found in unfortunate situations. These dogs come from all walks of life- neglected, homeless, owner surrendered, owner illness/death and military families unable to keep their beloved dogs due to their service to our country. We provide this needed service through donors who believe in our mission, as well as fund-raising events. We work diligently to control the Boxer population through mandatory spaying/neutering of our rescued Boxers. Additionally, we provide education on the Boxer personality and care, over-population in shelters and the many dangers of backyard breeding. Adoptive applicants are carefully screened to assure each Boxer is placed with an appropriate forever family, thus coming full circle and completing our goal.

We are like minded individuals that have been in rescue over 15 years. We wanted to start our own organization because we wanted the freedom to do more rescues and transport of animals out of kill shelters to give them a chance for a new life. We do it because we love to help animals. We named it after Little Ray a blind kitty that goes to schools to teach children how wonderful animals are and that you do not have to be perfect to be perfect....We also have Wonder another blind cat and Dobie a little chihauhau that goes to schools and teach children how to treat and love animals. We also teach how important spay/neutering is to everyone.

Central Virginia Regional Rescue

Virginia

My name is Laura and I am the president of CVRR. For 5 years I was the dog coordinator and board member for the Humane Society for Campbell County, where we had one of the largest and most respected foster-care-based rescues in the region. I have been a veterinary technician for 15 years. I have also been a trainer and behaviorist for 10+ years. My volunteers and I pulled away from HSCC because of a varying value system and different long-term goals, to create an organization based on a totally volunteer-run administration where every dollar goes to the animals' care. Educational outreach is also of paramount importance. Rescue has been a huge part of my life and my family's life, and we love having the opportunity to not only help animals get a well-deserved second chance but also play a part in completing a family with a new furry addition. Many volunteers in the rescue world I have found are very much animal people, but I enjoy the human aspect nearly as much as the opportunity to advocate for animals.

Ripley Animal Rescue

I started in 2013 by photographing hi risk dogs and cats in a rural high kill shelter and posting their photos to facebook for the community to see. It helped increase rescues and private adoptions from 45% to 62% live release rate in 2 years. Not a huge increase, but significant in a shelter where I found a live dog placed in the freezer for euthanized dogs. I began to pull dogs and foster and send to rescue partners and started adopting myself in 2013.
