Rest your paws pet refuge

We are a small organization committed to saving the animals of our county and surrounding areas. We educate the public on care, and pet overpopulation. I'm the founder and president of ryp? Started this organization in 2018 when I realized there was no local rescues and a high kill shelter that doesn't adopt out. I love each and everyone of our animals even after they found their forever homes.

Juli is a career long Labor & Delivery Nurse. She is a leader in Women’s Health, an Educator and she is also a Global Entrepreneur. She has been rescuing dogs since 1991. She lives on their 6 acre ranch outside of Los Angeles, California with her husband Paul, where they foster many of the rescues dogs, raise Nigerian Dwarf goats and Have Appaloosa Horses. She has been involved with several rescues over the years and felt now was the time to branch out on her own. She sought out the most compassionate, like-minded and dedicated people to join her on this adventure. She is passionate about educating the public about breed discrimination, the importance of fostering, spay and neutering and saving the seasoned dogs who may not have as long on the earth to teach us what they know. This is why the Senior or Senior Program was created.

PALS was formed in 2010 as a state-licensed, no-kill shelter in a low-income, rural part of Kansas. We operate without city, state, or other organization funding, and depend on adoption fees, fundraising, donations, and grants. We typically house about 25 dogs and 10 cats. Many of the dogs at our shelter are rescued from the city pound where they would be euthanized. We also accept relinquished pets at no charge. We pride ourselves in the care we give our animals and in the cleanliness of our shelter.

I formed the rescue because of the overwhelming need in our area. We are the largest growing town in NC. We used to be a quaint little fishing town with a military base at our back door. We have been discovered as a beautiful beach community which has brought people here, especially with the pandemic. They realized they could work from home, so why not make home the beach? Unfortunately, because we have such a transient population, cats are adopted/purchased and then left behind when the owners decide to move on. It happens so frequently that all the rescues in the area stay packed. I provide a safe environment, food and
