We are committed to improve the life of all dogs in our area. We believe that it is our responsibility to provide and facilitate the humane treatment of these most loyal & precious of God's creatures by providing temporary shelter, necessary medical treatment, and/or foster homes for stray or abandoned animals. We desire to build a strong base of foster families & volunteers who will help rescue, foster and care for the dogs we take in. We are further committed to help find suitable forever families for the animals in the various animal control and shelter systems in our area. We are dedicated to educating the public about responsible pet ownership & the importance of spay/neuter. We will encourage our community leaders to prosecute all cases of animal cruelty/neglect, and to enforce all state and local laws related to the proper care of animals. Based on Proverbs 31:8, we are committed to “Speak up for those who can’t speak for themselves” and be the voice of these most precious & loyal of God's creatures!

Stray Love Foundation, Inc.

Alabama
36555
info@straylovefoundation.org
The Stray Love Foundation began formally advocating for the local animal community in 2010 and, as a foster based animal rescue group has since placed over 1,400 animals in stable, safe and loving homes locally and throughout the country. The Stray Love Foundation has four primary missions: (1) To assist stray, injured and abandoned animals through vet care, fostering, and adoption; (2) TNR projects (trap, neuter, return) with the assistance of the Foley Police Department; (3) To facilitate and support the elderly and indigent with pet care, including vet costs, spay/neuter, and re-homing as necessary (also known as our Big Love Projects); and (4) To provide educational outreach programs to children and local groups to build awareness of the importance of companion animals as well as the importance of kind and compassionate treatment towards all animals. Our founder had always rescued on her own for decades but after moving to the Gulf Coast and the BP Oil spill occurred, the need for animal rescue increased exponentially. Being a business woman, our founder reached out to some of her peers to form a board and began formally operating as the Stray Love Foundation in April of 2010.

We are an independent 501(c)(3) organization made up of experienced volunteers who are dedicated to the rescue and adoption of homeless Labrador Retrievers and their offspring that are in need of safe and loving homes. We respond to requests for help from shelters, aid in the recovery of lost/abandoned Labradors and accept owner surrenders. We carefully place our Labradors into foster care. While in foster care, the dog receives any medical treatment they need and are microchipped. This most often consists of spaying or neutering, updating vaccinations, testing for heartworm, tick and valley fever and treatment of whatever medical issues are deemed necessary and treatable. We do not maintain a shelter, but instead find it beneficial to care for our Labradors in the homes of our foster families. This provides our Labradors the opportunity to maintain, or regain, their confidence as a valued member of a family. It allows our fosters an opportunity to evaluate the temperament and needs of the Labrador in order to find the most suitable adopters and permanent home environment. We work to educate the public about the virtues of the Labrador Retriever breed. We encourage the public to join this cause through donations, volunteerism and humane care of animals. We also strive to reduce the pet overpopulation problem by educating about the importance of spaying and neutering animals. The Labradors who are in the rescue process have been evaluated to best of our ability to assure that they are friendly to humans and other dogs. We carefully screen Labs with a history of biting, people or dog aggression and/or severe anxiety issues. We will not intake a dog that is a serious safety risk. However, we will provide training to correct behavioral issues when it is deemed plausible by our medical and behavioral volunteers.

Texas

info@texashumaneheroes.org(512) 260-3602
Texas Humane Heroes is a No Kill, private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization with dog and cat adoption centers in Leander (Greater Austin Metropolitan area) and Killeen, Texas. Established in 1979, Texas Humane Heroes enhances the lives of pets and people through adoption, availability of our low-cost spay/neuter and vaccination clinics as well as family-friendly community events. Our mission is to eliminate pet homelessness. We are 100% funded by donations, grants and modest fees for services. Texas Humane Heroes does not receive any local, state, or federal government funding. We take pets from a 5% chance at life to a 100% chance at a loving home. We rescue pets from municipal shelters, some with save rates as low as 5%, and provide them the opportunity to give and receive love. We are partnered with over 70 municipal shelters in over 30 counties in Texas. The problem of overcrowded municipal shelters and pets being put to sleep is a state-wide issue and requires a big vision. Our vision is to build a system to find a loving home for every Texas pet in need.
