420 N. Twin Oaks Valley Road
San Marcos
California
92079
admin@forgottenpaws.org(949) 246-1280
We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome small dogs from high kill shelters in SOCAL and place in appropriate loving homes in North County San Diego. Pre-Covid as Petco partner holding events each Saturday we re-homed on average 120-150 small dogs each year since our inception 2010. In February 2020 Petco shutdown store adoption events with all Petco Partners such as FPAR until further notice due to Pandemic.

Simple Girl Doggie Haven

5422 Evans Rd
Michigan
48442
info@sgdh.dog
One girls’ mission to fight for the underdogs and make an impact in dog rescue one dog at a time. Focusing on dogs that may have physical, medical, and other special needs. Disabilities ranging from blindness, deafness, confidence, reactive, to otherwise disable dogs. Dedicated to giving these animals the best chance of survival by providing lifesaving medical or training and letting them experience what it feels to know love and compassion. With the goal of teaching them to trust, and when they are ready, find their furever home. Simple Girl Doggie Haven (SGDH) mission is to save the lives of what are considered unadoptable by most shelters.. According to the ASPCA, every year 6.5 million animals enter shelters nationwide, and of these, 1.5 million are euthanized due to time and space. With medical being high on the list due to the cost of treating these animals. The goal is to reduce companion animal homelessness (especially the unadoptable) through establishing a network within rescues and shelters; supporting the community to keep pets in their homes; reducing the number of unwanted animals with aggressive spay/neuter services; and strengthen the human-animal bond through education & outreach programs. Rescue and Adoptions Simple Girl Doggie Haven plans to partner with local animal shelters whose animals are at high risk of euthanasia both in and out of Michigan and be able to save some of their unadoptable dogs. These dogs would include but not be limited to: puppies who due to their immature immune systems are highly susceptible to illness, pregnant or nursing dams who need a safe environment to raise their babies, dogs who are struggling emotionally or physically in the shelter environment, dogs who have run out of time in the shelter system, and dogs who are in need of specialized training. SGDH will not discriminate based on breed. The organization will be foster and volunteer based. We feel that foster homes are a better option due to the one-on-one attention these dogs will be receiving. It will also help reduce overhead which will allow more of the donations we receive to be directly applied to saving dogs.

Our efforts are mainly concentrated on animals in high-kill shelters to reduce total euthanizations every year. We also provide spay/neuter services to our local community for unwanted litters. Our founder, Roni Taylor, has been saving animals since she was a teenager. She formalized the rescue in 2011, after her Weimarainer, Lola, passed away. Since then, we have: Successfully placed more than 4,500 animals in forever homes Drastically reduced the number of unwanted litters and homeless animals who were being euthanized Provide education on the importance of spaying/neutering and info on local low-cost or free resources Went from saving large & giant breeds to taking in all cases who need our help and care All of our animals are in foster homes, as we are an all-volunteer non-profit organization. Thus we want to consistently increase our number of fosters and volunteers to save more lives. We are always open to support from local businesses & individuals -- financial donation, dog/cat food, animal supplies (crates, leashes, collars, etc.) or even sharing us on social media. We operate solely on the donations and support from our community. We are very proud of this relationship and hope to increase it as we continue growing as a rescue. Check out more info on us in this article from Mile High Dog.

I actually just took over Rascal's Rescue in January. The president had a baby and just did not want to do it anymore. I have been doing rescue work since 2014 when I began working at our local humane association. After leaving there, I continued my rescue work on an individual basis. I do this to better the lives of the animals.
