Rugaz Rescue Inc. is a fast growing foster and adoption home-based rescue and rehabilitation Team. We pride ourselves on rescuing and bringing back to health those that have been abandoned or left to fend for themselves, and only adopting out the ambassadors of the breed. We help through Pit Bull education, and promoting responsible Pit Bull ownership. We do in-home support for unruly bullies to help them stay with thier forever families to help make that bond all the more stronger. We work closely with our surrounding Animal Control facilities to save them from death row, and also work directly with the public on owner surrenders due to emergencies and family changes. We may not be able to take in every one, but we will try our hardest to help them all in any way we can! The beginning of February started a chain of events that has brought all of us at Hernando's APBT Rescue to change the name. In February, one of our dearest pits, Aztek, was adopted by Blue, who is now the co-director of the rescue. His love for Az is unprecedented. Recently, Blue quit his job to take the position and help as many of these wonderful dogs as he can. Just like when the founder of the rescue lost her dog and started the rescue to do the same. Years later from the first day the rescuing began, Blue lost his Aztek. This got us thinkin’…was it time to remember both our pits, Ruger and Aztek, in a way that said rescue them all? Two people, two dogs, two similar stories? We decided it is time! The impact these loving gentle giants had and will continue to have on us and everyone has brought us to the new name for the rescue: Rugaz Rescue Inc.!

We've done rescue for 15 yrs, 501(c)(3) for 12 yrs. We love dogs and try to find the most stable, loving homes possible. We believe in quality of adoptions, not quantity. In other words, each adoption is a lengthy process and applicants are screened to the best of our ability. Dogs are thoroughly vetted and groomed before they are adopted.
