HARI is a new rescue. However, we are continuing the activities we did for another rescues, For Paws Sake, Inc., in our county. Lori and I have been in rescue for over 25 years combined. Lori has rescued all over the US and Peurto Rico while her husband was in the service. Lori is a teacher at a private school and takes her animals into the classroom. The kids are rewarded by being able to help her with bottle feeding and care of puppies and sick animals. It is just another incentive for learning. In her math classes they are taught to figure out doses for the animal and ozs to be fed. Dianne is retired and works for the animals as a full time job. She works very closely with the local Animal Control. Hometown is very active in raising funds for the local AC to provide Parvo, Distemper, and Bordatella shots for each animal that enters the Shelter. In that way we are lowering the breakout rate in the Shelter and once animals are claimed or adopted in the community. We hold monthly vaccine clinics with $10 shots for Rabies, Parvo/Distemper, Bordatella, and Feline Distemper. Micro Chips including registration are $20. We plan to implement a spay/neuter program in AC and for the public the beginning of next year. Why we do it? To improve the quality life and health of the animals in our community, thus improving the quality of life of the humans who live here. Our Mission statment pretty well says it. Hometown Animal Rescue, Inc is a group of volunteers dedicated to the rescue, sanctuary and re homing of local stray and neglected dogs. We work in alliance with the local animal control to build an animal friendly community, encourage respect and compassion for all animals and advocate responsible pet ownership. Hometown Animal Rescue, Inc will accomplish this through educating the public on the importance of spay/neuter and general pet care and health. We will set the example of humane care and treatment through our rescue efforts and demonstrate pet owner responsibility we want current and future pet owners to emulate. It is our desire that other counties see the success of our network of supporters and volunteers and thus implement similar programs to benefit the animals and citizens of their own community.

In metro Atlanta, dogs and cats of all ages and breeds are turned in at county-run Animal Control facilities, abandoned, neglected or abused every day. Some dogs and cats are turned in to us by owners who no longer want them, or who can no longer care for them. Usually, though, most owners in this situation turn their pets over to the county-run Animal Control facilities, and there is a 70 percent chance the dog will be euthanized. An owner surrendered older dog or and cat, or poorly-socialized purebreds, mixed breeds, and sick or injured dogs are usually euthanized immediately. The others might be put up for adoption, but with so many animals coming in each day, often there is no room to keep even the healthy, adoptable ones for very long in these shelters. This is where Perfect Pets Rescue, Inc. steps in. We rescue most of our dogs from area shelters and once rescued, they are vaccinated, treated for intestinal and external parasites and are spayed or neutered. Sometimes, dogs need to get medical treatment beyond this. All animals are fostered and get used to the "good life". Eventually, every dog is placed in the kind of home where it will never again know the fear and pain it has lived with most, if not all, of its life. In time, an amazing transformation occurs. Their emotional, physical and spiritual wounds heal. Scared dogs are transformed into healthy, playful, affectionate pets. They learn to play. They learn to trust. They learn to live without fear or confusion. They become the pets they were meant to be and live the lives they were meant to live. Please keep in mind that we are a small registered non-profit 501(c)(3) organization at this time, and can only rescue few dogs at a time. Volunteers willing to open their hearts and their homes to our rescue dogs are also crucial to our continued success. We want to express a heartfelt "thank you" to our foster homes that opened their heart and homes to one of our wonderful dogs. We couldn't do it without you guys!

Fancy Feline Rescue of the South

Powder Springs

FancyFelineResQ@bellsouth.net(678) 522-2152
Fancy Feline Rescue of the South, a non-profit, no-kill rescue licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture, is a small rescue organization with a big heart for the "Fancy Feline" breeds -- particularly Persian, Himalayan, Exotic, Ragdoll, Birman, Maine Coon, Siamese, and other CFA- and TICA-recognized breeds and mixes. Our goal is to provide tender, loving care and safe-haven for those cats that are abandoned, abused, neglected, or no longer wanted by their owners, and to find appropriate, adoptive forever homes for each. While in our care, Fancy Feline Rescue of the South strives to give one-on-one socialization, providing the individual attention these cats so often need. Fancy Feline Rescue of the South is dedicated to providing individual attention and the best care possible for our cats. We evaluate each cat as to temperament, fully vet before adoption, and place them with the best adoptive home to meet the needs of the specific cat.
