We are advocates for the outcasts, a voice for the unwanted. We believe all dogs deserve a loving home and just like people, they all deserve a second chance at happiness.

GRR Midwest is a regional small dog rescue. We take in dogs from puppy mills, owner surrenders, strays, and shelters. We foster the dogs in our homes; we are not a shelter.

We place homeless cats and dogs from the county animal shelter and owner surrender in foster homes as available until they can be adopted. We try to reduce euthanasia rates at the county shelter by reducing their overcrowding. Cat euthanasia rates are still high and we desperatly need cat fosters and adopters. Spay/neuter assistace to those in need. Educate local citizens on animal walfare concerns.

I am a Certified Dog Trainer through ABC and a behaviorist. I have been training dogs as a volunteer in a prison program for over 2 yrs now. I also pull and help dogs in need. I don't let any dog leave my premises without all vetting, hw testing and spay/neuter. I also work with my dogs before adopting them out so I know that they will make great family pets. I choose the right dog for the right house, I don't allow people to choose the dog they think is right if I know the dog will have issues. I got into dog training in AL to help my local Humane Society evaluate dogs that had been for adoption for long periods of time, seeing a need for training, that became my mission. Training unadopted dogs and making them wonderful pets. I do it for the love not the money, I am an unpaid volunteer dog trainer for our local prison program.

Our goal is to care for our county's unwanted and abandoned animals and place them in loving homes or responsible rescues. We also hope to improve the lives of all of Rockcastle County's pets by improving education and promoting spay/neuter programs.

In my area there is no official organization. I volunteered with an Organization in Ohio that is now defunct. There is really no one else in less than four hours who will accept Parrots.

We do not have a facility or a store front. We are a network of fosters that rescue cats. We take them into our homes. We nurture and feed them. We pay for all vaccinations and spay/neuter. We did this because there are no no-kill shelters in Kentucky and most of the rescues had so many cats that they couldn't help us, so we decided to branch out and do this on our own. We also speak out against animal cruelty.

We are a small 501(c)3 Othat attempts to get the dogs taken in by the county adopted. Before our inception all dogs in Owen County were euthanized.
