We are a Public Security Force for companion animals. We try to prevent the animals form entering animal controls. We combine community and companions in several services and educational programs. We are also very focused laws being enforced and tweek'd for better protection against the horrible acts of cruelty, abandonment, and neglect. We want back yard breeding addressed to. Our goal is to help change the mind set we currently still have about animal control. We also embrace technology being embraced in the process of animal control.

I started in 2013 by photographing hi risk dogs and cats in a rural high kill shelter and posting their photos to facebook for the community to see. It helped increase rescues and private adoptions from 45% to 62% live release rate in 2 years. Not a huge increase, but significant in a shelter where I found a live dog placed in the freezer for euthanized dogs. I began to pull dogs and foster and send to rescue partners and started adopting myself in 2013.

The Appalachian Highlands Humane Society promotes Spay/Neuter. We pull animals from our local animal shelter and place them in foster care, give them any medical attention they need, spay/neuter prior to adoptions. We also, review craigslist on a daily basis and contact individuals listing "free" puppies, dogs, cats and kittens in an effort to get them to surrender to us and attempt to educate these individuals about spay/neuter and the danger of listing free animals. Along with our foster animals, we take animals currently residing in our local shelter to adoption events.

Gimme Forever Shelter is a 501(c)3 orgainzation providing shelter for at-risk and orphaned dogs. We provide all of the necessary services and tools to ensure a safe and successful adoption of our pets into forever homes. We love what we do because we see the joy between pet parents and pets when adoption is a successful and enjoyable process.

Memphis Pets Alive! was created to help people help pets. Our primary focus is the Memphis Animal Services facility, a high kill shelter in our county. We photograph and network every available animal, and our goal is our own building to save more pets.

Nashville PITTIE’s aim is to restore the image of pit bull type dogs, through education, promoting responsible pet ownership, and spay/neuter.​ We are all unpaid volunteers with a passion for pit bull type dogs.

Promote TNR to control the feral cat population

Cheatham County Animal Control is a County Government facility that receives nearly 2200 animals a year with room to house only 50 at a time. Only four staff members clean, feed, treat, bathe, intake, answer phone, and make onsite calls for: at large, cruelty, neglect, and all other issues. The staff also works to save every animal possible with limited resources. Cheatham County is over 360 square miles and is filled with unwanted animals. Our county compliance on vaccinations, spay/neuter, and safety of animals is low. We are leading our staff and our community toward a culture change - which will take time...time our animals do not always have on their side. We rely on Rescues, Adopters, Donations and Education to do the very best we can to care for the many many animals we receive daily. Your help is needed and appreciated. Working toward making Cheatham County an Animal Friendly County! The adoption fee covers the animals (Dogs/Cats) spay/neuter, rabies shot and all vaccinations while they are in our custody.
