The Humane Society of Coleman County, serving Coleman and Runnels Counties, was incorporated in Texas in December 2003. We have a 501c3 determination. Our primary mission is providing discounted spay/neuter vouchers to low-income families in our economically depressed, rural counties. Secondarily, we do what we can to rescue adoptable pets from the streets and the city kill shelters. We are also involved in education programs in the schools, primarily through use of KIND News.

Tails of Hope Pet Rescue was incorporated in March 2008. We are a non-profit rescue and adoption group based in Waxahachie, Texas. Tails of Hope is currently run by a small team of volunteers. We are all dedicated to rescuing animals in need, providing a safe environment for these animals, and matching the rescue animals to good families who will provide a lifetime of loving care for them. The dogs and cats we have for adoption have all been rescued from various unacceptable living conditions, whether they came from animal control facilities, or were abandoned by their owners and dumped off on streets, bridges, or gravel pits. We rescue these unfortunate dogs/cats, and provide them with housing, food, medical care, rehabilitation opportunities, and love and attention, while we work to find a loving, permanent home for them.

We are a group of friends and family that want the best for the animals that are abandoned or strays. These wonderful pets are rescued, loved, vetted, and happy. We want them to be in a home that is best suited for them. We encourage that adopters study the breed they are interested in, look up the websites, check out books on the breed to make sure they can know as much as possible about the particular breed. We do home checks, vet checks, and follow up visits. We want to make sure that every pet is a perfect match for their new home. All of our pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption.

Hearts 4 Paws is a small, privately financed rescue organization dedicated to saving animals from going to the pound to face almost certain death when current providers can no longer care for them. All animals are altered, tested, vaccinated, microchipped and treated for heartworm sif they test positive. They are also kept up to date while in rescue with shots/ heartworm prevention until their new home is found. We rescue unwanted, neglected or sometimes even cruelty cases fomr the city pound because WE CARE! These pets are kept at a local boarding facility, that's where the funding comes from! The owner of the kennel doesn't believe in making money from animals, and then not putting back into the community to save others! Because of the econmoy, funds have been tighter than ever, but we keep moving forward, praying for relief.

This is a volunteer group supporting the various local shelter pets. We promote adoption of homeless animals by placing posts on craigslist.com, holding adoptions, fundraisers, shelter dog walking days, etc. Our volunteers work tirelessly to achieve the goal of a forever home for each & every pet. We support each other in this quest, share tips, techniques and tricks for all pet issues (obedience, housetraining, behavior problems). In addition to our adoption and fund raising events, we meet at the shelter to walk the dogs, love on the kitties, bring them treats & take pictures for posting.

We are not an open admissions organization and we have a "no-kill policy for healthy, treatable and adoptable animals. VISION We understand that fulfilling our vision will mean a partnership with the entire community and all of our stakeholders. With this clear and unified understanding of our purpose, direction and path we set out our core values: We are guided by the belief that no adoptable or treatable companion animal should be unnecessarily euthanized due to space, time, looks or breed. · STEWARDSHIP: We manage and allocate all our resources to remain steadfast to our mission, to achieve the greatest good, and to ensure the future of our organization. · QUALITY CARE: Our actions and decisions are based on providing the best medical care and services to the most animals.
