I have been a volunteer in dog rescue for over 25 years. Originally, in the 90s, I picked up street dogs, got medical care, found their homes or re-homed them. Now I focus on local owner surrenders that are advertised free or cheap on Craigslist or Facebook. Other local rescues will not accept these dogs and they have a very low chance of finding a safe forever home. Most of them are either passed from home to home with no vet care and increasing behavior issues from neglect or abuse, or used in fighting rings or otherwise by sick people. I do it out of love and concern for dogs. I have also volunteered in the lost and found animal world and moderated several FB L & F pages and was on TV to talk about the topic. I have helped many people find their lost dogs.

I founded Lancaster Four Dog Rescue due to a plea to save 4 emaciated pit bull puppies. This led to an animal abuse case that is still ongoing. I have always wanted to help animals. When I was growing up I would save neighbor dogs that were left outside with no food or water. I began by fostering for rescues then volunteering. The 4 puppies sparked my desire to start my own rescue.

Rabbit Advocates is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose volunteers specialize in educating the public about the care of domestic rabbits. We aim to place surrendered or abandoned rabbits in loving homes where they will be welcomed as family members. Formerly a part of the Oregon Humane Society, in 2002 we created a group solely devoted to promoting the welfare of domestic rabbits. The Rabbit Advocates operate an education and adoption website as well as a help line. We hold rabbit adoption outreach events and other activities at locations around the Portland Metro Area and hold monthly meetings.

Underdogs Rock! Rescue

underdogrr@gmail.com
We are a small Portland, Oregon based 501c3 organization rescuing dogs from the over crowded shelters in Southern California, Alabama, and Hawaii. We foster the dogs until they are healthy and help them find their forever homes! Contact us at underdogrr@underdograilroadrescue.com URR work directly with Rescue Groups in Southern California to rescue dogs who are on their last days in the high-kill shelters. Because our dogs are in Foster Homes we get to know the dogs personalities and needs. As we know the dogs well and how they do in a home environment, we do a great job in matching families with the right dog, and the right family for the dog!

The Jay County Animal Control is an open door, municipal facility committed to protecting animals from conditions harmful to their well being, and to protecting the citizens of the community from stray, unvaccinated, and dangerous animals. We strive to promote a harmonious atmosphere between the animals and the people of our community. Along with the stray animals we pick up, we take every domestic animal that comes to our door; young, old, sick, or injured. Although state and county laws require animals to be held a minimum of 5 days, we try to shelter some for months while we try to find them new homes. But more keep coming every day, and we can only house so many at a time. As a result, we must humanely euthanize those animals for which no homes can be found. We have one Animal Control Officer who covers the entire 384 square miles of Jay county.
