Home At Last Animal Haven

TX
76044
Home At Last Animal Haven is an animal rescue hoping to provide a second chance at life for friendless animals. HALAH is no kill shelter which originated when the founders saw all the "dumped" dogs in the rural area sitting on the side of the road waiting for their owners to return. They picked them up one by one and became the non profit organization which exits today. Home At Last is a rustic facility where dogs romp and rest together in huge yards. There are no tiny sterile cages where the animals live while hoping to be adopted before their time runs out. It is a Haven for animals to enjoy life in the country air, with birds overhead, earth beneath their paws, and playmates to keep them company, while considering the move to a personal, loving family home if one is offered.

OUT US DDR was founded in Moon Township, PA in 2006. Since then, DDR has grown to cover the entire north eastern US. DDR was established on the idea of helping Dobermans in need and since then have expanded our help to include the Miniature Pinscher breed as well as other breeds we have experience with. We are a 501(c)(3), Not For Profit Organization and a corporation in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania composed solely of volunteers that function solely on donations, fundraising efforts and volunteers. Funds are used to offset the costs of rescuing and re-homing the dogs that enter our rescue. There are various costs involved with each dog that is rescued. Some of these costs include shelter fees, veterinary care, medications, and equipment. DDR receives Dobermans and Miniature Pinschers from shelters as well as private owners. Some rescued dogs come into rescue in poor health or suffering from the affects of neglect and/or abuse. Each dog receives a vet exam, necessary vaccines and medicines, a microchip, a heartworm test (heartworm treatment if found to be positive), spayed/neutered and all known health issues are addressed prior to adoption. DDR is run solely by unpaid volunteers who devote time and energy because of their love for these majestic breeds. Our volunteers do this in addition to having families, jobs and dogs of our own. Our only reward is knowing we have made a positive difference in the lives of the dogs that come into our rescue program. There is a screening process for adoptive homes. Each potential adopter must complete an adoption application, agree to a home visit and sign an adoption contract. We also require an adoption fee to help defray costs incurred while the rescued dog is in our care. Volunteers remain in contact with our adoptive homes for the rescued dog's entire life. We are always here to provide assistance if needed. Distinguished Dobermans Rescue, Inc. strives to help Dobermans, Miniature Pinschers and other various breeds in need. Since our organization was established, we have endeavored to provide help where the need is greatest

Ocean Hill Cats’ goal is to humanely and safely reduce the huge overpopulation of stray and feral cats living on the streets and increase the quality of life of those who stay outside. Female kittens can get pregnant as early as at 4 months old and have 4-5 litters per year! That means most kittens don’t make it, and the ones that do are forced to fight for food, territory, mates… and repeat the cycle. We do our part by participating in trap, neuter, return (TNR) program – we use humane traps to catch feral cats and take them to the vet. They get fixed (spayed or neutered), vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed and returned outdoors to the same spot where they were trapped. Each returned cat gets an “ear tip” (a tiny tip of their ear is removed during spay/neuter surgery) to communicate to other rescuers that they’re already fixed, and don’t need to be trapped again. After the release, we coordinate ongoing care (food, water, shelter) for the community cats by tending to the cat colonies ourselves or working with volunteers. If the street cats within our care get sick or injured, we take them in and ensure they get appropriate veterinary care. Where needed and/or possible, we will do our best to find homes for street cats - for example friendly community cats living in dangerous locations, sick cats who can’t survive outside or abandoned pets. We also support low-income and vulnerable residents who own cats as pets by facilitating access (scheduling, transport, recovery) to low-cost veterinary & spay/neuter appointments. We also work on raising awareness about cat overpopulation in Brooklyn via social media and in person conversations with neighbors.

Nirvana Animal Rescue

PO Box 291
Shermans Dale
PA

Nirvana Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization committed to providing sanctuary to homeless, neglected, and abused animals. We rescue companion animals who are left behind, forgotten, neglected, thrown away, or abused and provide them with their own nirvana, free from suffering and pain. All our animals are behaviorally assessed and many receive professional training prior to being placed in their forever homes. Our emphasis is on the quality, not quantity, of animals placed to ensure successful, lifelong adoptions. Nirvana Animal Rescue was founded to ensure no animal is left behind. All animals, regardless of age, size, medical or behavioral need are welcome to find their own slice of heaven at Nirvana Animal Rescue. The number of animals who are adopted, rather than bred and bought, is increasing, while the number of adoptable pets who are euthanized in shelters is decreasing. Unfortunately, these statistics leave out the animals who are being left behind - the seniors, animals with medical needs, and animals with behavioral considerations. These animals are the focus of Nirvana Animal Rescue. The animals who are left behind, forgotten, neglected, thrown away, and abused are allowed to experience their own nirvana, free from suffering and pain, at the rescue.

We are a cat kitten rescue501c3 and have devoted decades as well as incredible funding and resources to ending homelessness, cruelty and neglect. We are 100% volunteer based and have received Maddie Funds grants, Manatee County Animal Services cooperative grants and recently received a large FAF grant to TNR. We use many tools to end homelessness in cats and kittens thru adoption, spays, neuters, tNR’s, education, awareness. Some of us have migrated from the canine world where things are much better. Dogs are not born under every dumpster and the author of this has worked for decades to close commercial breeding facility (aka Puppy mills). Community cat colony maintenance and pawpulation control is another aspect of this rescue.

We are here for the animals . . . To be the voice for the animals who cannot speak for themselves. To provide protection, a safe haven and compassion through leadership for the homeless, abused and neglected animals of our community. To be the advocates for our unwanted/ abandoned pets and promote humane awareness for all animals. PHS is dedicated to nurturing and protecting the animals in our care while they await adoption. We are committed to providing these animals with the patience, confidence, discipline, nutrition, medical treatment and socialization they may require until they can be adopted into responsible homes. PHS is a No Kill Shelter – meaning, we do not euthanize for space limitations. We provide euthanasia for terminally ill and seriously injured animals to end their suffering when reasonable courses of treatment have been exhausted. We consider humane euthanasia in the animal’s best interest – if an animal is behaviorally or mentally tormented to the degree that they will not allow any human contact or interaction and only after every effort has been exhausted to modify the behavior issues of the animal.

Our mission is two-fold: (1) rescue two classes of animals in need of their own redemption, Pit Bull type dogs and the American Mustang, and (2) transform those animals into therapy or service animals for people who have experienced trauma, including first responders and veterans with PTSD/TBI and their families, individuals who have experienced some kind of abuse or traumatizing event, and those recovering from addiction, depression, or loss. Animals rescued into our program may serve simply as emotional support/companions to highly trained PTSD service animals, with the ultimate goal of redeeming both human and animal.

Pawsitive Tails is a not for profit organization focused on finding forever homes for dog and puppies in the Kansas City area and Topeka. We are not a shelter and we do not have a facility – all the dogs in our program live in loving foster homes. We take dogs into our homes and care for them as if they were our own until they go to their forever homes. The time we spend with them helps us to learn more about each of them which allows us to be able to provide applicants with an accurate assessment and the dog’s individual strengths and needs. We are for the dogs who need help now, educate the public to protect dogs of the future, allow dogs to give back as they do best – with their whole hearts, and we accomplish each stage with a sense of humor. Pawsitive Tails is a federal501(c)(3) non profit organization serving the Kansas City and Topeka areas. Your donations are tax deductible! We are run entirely by volunteers and have no paid positions. All of our dogs live as family members in loving foster homes. This means that every single dollar that we bring in goes directly to the dogs in our care. We are run entirely on donations and adoption fees. We appreciate every dollar, thank you for helping us to help them!
