Our mission is to provide animals with loving care and lasting homes, to partner with communities striving to do the same, and to advance our no-kill legacy. We accomplish our mission by transferring cats and dogs to our facilities from public shelters in the Bay Area and beyond when they are in danger of being euthanized due to space or financial limitations. Pets In Need has shelters in Redwood City and Palo Alto. We have owned and operated our Redwood City shelter since 1993, and in 2019 we began operating the Palo Alto Animal Shelter in partnership with the City of Palo Alto.

Blazin' Trails Bottle Babies, Inc. is a rescue organization based in Raleigh, NC, dedicated to saving and caring for orphaned neonatal puppies. We specialize in providing round-the-clock care for these vulnerable puppies, ensuring they receive proper nutrition, warmth, medical attention, and socialization to help them thrive. Our team of skilled volunteers and foster families is committed to offering the best support for puppies that have been abandoned or rejected, giving them a chance for a happy and healthy future. We emphasize education and training within our foster network to address the unique needs of orphaned neonates, from bottle feeding to socialization. In partnership with veterinarians, we provide advanced medical care when necessary. Our mission is to raise awareness of animal welfare and to promote responsible practices like spaying and neutering, ensuring fewer animals end up in rescue situations. At Blazin' Trails Bottle Babies, we believe that every puppy deserves a chance at a loving home, and we work tirelessly to ensure they get the care and attention they need to find their forever families.

We are a rescue and a sanctuary. We rescue domestic animals and farm animals from abuse, abandonment, injury, and certain death; and restore health and trust through a network of kindhearted fosters. Our fosters are vetted after completing an application: https://tinyurl.com/yfrac6c8 Animals that are rehabilitated and adoptable are spayed, neutered or gelded and placed in thoroughly-vetted forever homes. Those that cannot be adopted live out their lives at Storybook Rescues. Founder, Merrick Stern, spends a staggering amount of time doing TNR of stray and feral cats throughout South Central Texas. She also holds adoption events, and speaks on the topics of TNR, the importance of sterilizing cats and dogs, and treating all animals humanely. As of mid August, 2024, well over 400 cats and kittens have passed through Storybook Rescues this calendar year. Forty-six were adopted; the majority were returned to the locations where they were trapped. Twenty-one dogs, 4 horses, and 8 other species. were also rescued this year. We do this because we believe all animals deserve a humane environment where they are loved and treated like family.

The Ark's mission statement is: * To rescue as many homeless animals as possible. * To provide all veterinary care for each animal to include spaying/neutering before adoption. * To maintain a no kill policy except for reasons of mercy or dangerous temperament. * To promote humane treatment of animals. The Ark provides all veterinarian preventatives to include: juvenile spay/neuter, shelter, food and a loving “at home” environment for rescued animals while they wait to be adopted into a new loving home. The Ark operates solely on donations and fundraisers and receives no city, county, state or federal funding. The Ark also has no paid employees. Volunteers from the community help out at the shelter caring for the rescued animals as well as returning telephone calls. If not for caring citizens, the Ark could not operate. The Ark serves our community by: * Rescuing sick, abandoned and injured animals * Constructing and maintaining a no-kill animal shelter * Rescuing as many animals as possible from the City Animal Control Shelter before they are put to death * Starting the first juvenile animal spay/neuter program to ensure ALL animals adopted from the ARK are spayed or neutered before adoption
