Cat Care Society

5787 West Sixth Avenue
Colorado
80214
frontdesk@catcaresociety.org(303) 239-9680
Cat Care Society (CCS) was founded in 1981 by Linda East, DVM and Lynn Rowe. CCS is a nonprofit organization and was established in order to improve the quality of life for homeless, injured and abused cats in the Denver metropolitan area. The Society's goals are: To sponsor educational programs that promote responsible pet ownership, humane treatment of all animals, and the elimination of pet overpopulation; To shelter cats in a healthy, cage free environment and to find compatible and responsible families for every cat; To provide community outreach programs that improve the quality of life for cats and people; To be a friend to all cats. The shelter provides a temporary refuge for more than 50 cats until an appropriate and permanent home can be found for each. Veterinary care, premium diet and human interaction are lovingly provided. The large number of phone calls received each day from people who have found abandoned, abused or injured cats needing good homes indicates a strong community need for our services. We receive an average of 70 phone calls for assistance daily. Sadly, more than half of these are from owners needing to give up their cats. For these cats, we provide Information about placing the cat and referrals to other area shelters. We also provide this same information to people who have found a cat when we are at or over our capacity and cannot take the cat. Many calls involve behavioral problems or are questions about feral (wild) cats. Behavior counseling and printed articles on a wide variety of topics are available at the shelter. Cat Care Society is supported by a number of loyal members and contributors, without whom we could not operate. We receive no government funding. In addition, our volunteers assist with many fundraising activities each year such as our Tails of the Painted Cats Gala Dinner & Auction, Meow Mart, Paws On The Green Charity Golf Tournament, Santa Paws Festival, Colorado Gives Day, and much more. We offer these these programs for our donors: Nine Lives Legacy Society Nine Lives Cat Guardianship Program Nine Lives Partners Giving Club CCS respects the privacy of our donors. We do not sell or exchange our mailing list to anyone.

Help For The Dogs Inc.

Georgia
30144
Gary@HelpForTheDogs.org(866) 833-8224
Gary became a private pilot in May 2011 at the age of 36. He wanted to do something useful with the new skill other than just practice landings. He did a couple of missions for Pilots N Paws. He was then asked if he could drive dogs which led into years of transporting for many rescues. He then created Help For The Dogs to raise money for transports and anything that could be done. In 2015, Gary’s wife Amy expressed the interest to pull dogs under the charity so they could control their own destiny. She thought she could work with foster dogs and fosters ‘fur’ parents the same way she worked with hundreds of foster kids and parents through the state of Georgia. In 2016 after Gary and Amy had their son, they registered with the state and city to be licensed. They came across a lot of talented, passionate people that could give/work with Help For The Dogs in many ways.

Looking Glass Animal Rescue, Inc.

Ridgefield
Connecticut
06877
adopt@lgarinc.org
Looking Glass Animal Rescue (LGAR) is a non-profit, volunteer-based animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing animals from high-kill shelters, hoarding situations, puppy mills, animal fighting rings and more. While we welcome all animals in need, we specifically focus on animals that are often overlooked due to age, breed, special need or an illness or injury requiring immediate, often costly medical attention that shelters are unable to provide. Without a rescue outlet, these animals would otherwise be euthanized due to their issues. Hundreds of animals are euthanized every year due to overpopulation, irresponsibility and sadly, cost. This is particularly true with animals who suffer medical ailments, many of which are treatable yet they are often deemed œ"unadoptable" and withheld from public view. These animals in particular suffer the worst fate because they sit in pain and fear with no hope of ever being given a second chance at life. Because of this, we have developed a special focus within our rescue to save as many of these animals as we can. Veterinary expenses alone can range from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars depending on the severity of the condition, which is often unknown at the time of pull. Yet, in spite of these costs, our mission for every animal we pull into our rescue is to provide the most advanced medical and pain management treatments possible in an effort to ensure the best possible outcomes for these previously neglected and broken animals. In addition to treating their acute medical needs, every animal rescued will be spayed/neutered, if they are not already, and vaccinated and microchipped as soon as possible in an effort to give them the best opportunity for a healthy, happy life. When people do decide to foster an animal or adopt from us, they should expect the animal will remain well and not pass disease to their resident pets. Lastly, for each animal that we place, we provide extensive education on how to transition the animal into their new life. Basics like crate training, housetraining, obedience training, and the best ways to introduce resident pets are integral for the success of the relationship. When necessary we will also engage professional trainers for those animals that need specific behavior modification in an effort to help our animals and their new family position themselves for success. Mental health is as important as physical health and we believe that every animal should be given the chance to lead a life free of fear and anxiety. Like psychologists, professional trainers are often the only ones equipped to transition an abused animal from the life that once "was" to the life that "could be". Our goal is to ensure that all of our animals become a cherished and welcomed member of their new family for the remainder of their lives. By working with a network of volunteer advocates, foster caregivers called Adoption Ambassadors, local veterinarians, trainers and shelters, LGAR is hoping to be able to rescue hundreds of animals every year. We also serve as a resource to our community by providing information on pet ownership, including resources for spay/neuter, positive behavior training, nutrition and veterinary care. We believe that no animal should be mistreated and are working toward the day when no companion animal is euthanized for lack of a home.

Camp Chaos Puppy Rescue

PO Box 23
Missouri
63051
campchaospuppyrescue@outlook.com(314) 775-7223
Camp Chaos Puppy Rescue is a small foster based puppy rescue that saves animals from rural and local high kill shelters. We specialize in the care and rescue of pregnant mothers and litters of puppies. We are not equipt to take in or care for adult dogs, especially large breeds, other than the pregnant females and mothers of the puppies in our care. On rare occasion our organization will take in other puppies and dogs in need based on foster home availability. Our goal is to place homeless pets in the best home possible and to see to it that they are spayed/neutered to eliminate their ability to add to the over population of unwanted and homeless pets. Our adoption fee is $280, which helps cover the cost of their spay/neuter, microchip, deworming, fecal testing, veterinary health exam, heartworm testing and age appropriate vaccinations (distemper/parvo combo, bordetella, rabies).
