Foster Care

We are a county run shelter that strives for no kill. We try to keep the shelter population down and provide rehoming options instead of in shelter owner surrenders. We are advocated for spay/neuter. We provide wellness checks on animals in our county and assist with families in need of pet food. Our staff are all animal lovers that want to see our dogs get into a home and out of the shelter. We do everything we can to ensure that their stay with us is a good experience and provide excellent medical care for each animal.

Mission Our mission is to combat the abuse and abandonment of dogs and lack of animal welfare awareness in our communities. We do this by rescuing and rehabilitating dogs while equipping and enriching local communities with the educational programs, resources and hope needed to save all dogs in need. KFR is composed of a passionate group of animal lovers in our community that came together to form “Kate’s Furreka Rescue”, a group dedicated to helping improve the welfare and safety of animals in our community. Last year we fostered over 300 dogs and adopted out 270. We are committed to assisting our local shelter with saving animals, to educating our community about the importance of spay and neutering for their pets, and to assisting families who need a helping hand from the community to keep their pets at home instead of surrendering them to the shelter.

We are a 501c3 organization with a mission to rescue, restore and rehome companion animals, primarily cats. We have a passion for animals and strive to be a voice for them. We are also involved in TNR to address overpopulation.

DLRR is an all volunteer organization. I have volunteered for 7 years and held many positions in the rescue including past president. I stay involved to help the dogs.

Molly’s Kittens is a nonprofit animal rescue organization dedicated to improving the lives of community cats and kittens. Through our core values—rescue, sterilization, fostering, and adoption—we rescue vulnerable cats and kittens, mitigate community cat overpopulation, and enrich the lives of adoptable kittens and the people who love them.

We are vegan caretakers of a goat and cat rescue that provide for animals in need that come from a variety of situations and adopt them out to their forever homes when they are ready and provide sanctuary to the ones not adoptable.

It is our mission to provide for the adoption and placement of rescued cats and kittens into permanent loving homes. We are further dedicated to the care and well-being of these homeless cats and to educating the public on the need to spay/neuter pets, the prevention of animal cruelty, responsible pet ownership, and actively encouraging Trap Neuter and Return (TNR) in our community.
