Safe Place for Pets is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit pet placement organization that provides care, support and rehoming services for pets of terminally ill people. For more than 20 years, Safe Place for Pets has compassionately served pet owners diagnosed with terminal illnesses. We have found forever homes for over 1,000 of their beloved pets while also providing needed veterinary care and support. At Safe Place, we place a heavy emphasis on making sure our pets receive quality veterinary services when placed in our care. All of our pets undergo a veterinary examination and are up-to-date on vaccinations, spay/neutered and undergo a comprehensive oral health assessment and treatment when recommended by a veterinarian, ensuring that each pet is happy, healthy and ready for their new forever homes.

We are Florida’s only guinea pig rescue with the 501(c)3 charitable organization distinction and have very high standards of care at our rescue. We provide the whole State of Florida with guinea pig care information, adoptions, and are a nationally and internationally recognized guinea pig rescue. Crazy Cavies is a Non-Profit 501(c)3, No Kill guinea pig only rescue that provides a temporary safe haven for abandoned, neglected and/or homeless guinea pigs, located in Lauderhill, FL. Crazy Cavies educates the public about guinea pigs, provides a temporary safe haven for abandoned guinea pigs, and finds quality forever homes for guinea pigs. We partner with other organizations to stop the unnecessary euthanasia of guinea pigs.

Dorothy Hanna O’Connor (1907-1992), Victoria’s preeminent caregiver of dogs and cats, established Six Flags Humane Society in 1963 as the community’s first animal rescue shelter. As the successor organization, The Dorothy H. O’Connor Pet Adoption Center is dedicated in her memory, so that a new generation of Victoria County’s citizens may continue in her work of humane treatment of dogs and cats and to facilitate the adoption of God’s creatures into loving homes. The Dorothy H. O’Connor Pet Adoption Center provides homeless animals a caring environment with the purpose of the adoption of dogs and cats into their own loving homes.

Since its founding in 2003, HART has saved the lives of thousands of adoptable animals in Western Maryland by reducing pet overpopulation through low-cost spay/neuter programs; building the HART Adoption Wing where adoptable animals are safe while waiting for their forever homes; and rescue and transport adoptable animals to reputable adoption organizations. PAWS advocates for animals through education, spay /neuter programs and direct care. We take in and adopt out owner surrenders, strays and animals from many local animal control agencies. We do the best we can to find homes for our animals and provide low cost spay and neuter services to the community. We also have a Rabies vaccine program and refer clients to local veterinarians as needed. We participate in community education programs and allow our community members and middle and high school kids to complete their community service at our rescue. Our organization is strictly non-profit and we survive on donations from our community. All animals adopted are spayed or neutered, vaccinated wormed and treated with advantage or frontline for fleas.
