The Junior Humane Society is a non-profit, all volunteer, animal rescue group. For the past 26 years, we have taken in owner released pets so they won't be taken to the pound/animal shelter. All animals waiting for adoption are placed in foster homes. Before placing the animal in a permanent home we provide all necessary vet care, including but not limited to shots, spaying and neutering.

We are a non profit animal rescue group. We rescue unwanted animals and find them forever loving homes. We feel it is our calling and must help with the overpopulation of dogs and cats. It is unbelievable how many wonderful animals are not given this second chance at life.

We rescue pets from bad environments, animal control kill shelters, abandoned, neglected, abused, un-wanted, get them healthy, spay/neuter, all vaccinations, dewormings then place them in loving, caring and responsible homes.

We are a new group just starting out, I am the president of the group. We are going for are 501c3. So many dogs are dumped in our state that the state needs all the help they can get. We take the dogs into our homes and love them like our own until we can find their forever home. We give them food, vet care, spay/neuter,up to date on shots, and most of all love. Why do we do it? Because some say we are nuts, but it is for the love of the animal.

We are a non-profit rescue organization with a 501c3 status. We rescue stray and unwanted dogs and give them daily care, medical needs, spay/neuter. We want to save as many lives as we can.

Halfway Home Pet Adoptions offers a wide range of programs & services; including the sheltering of lost and homeless animals, pet adoption and placement, spay/neuter programs, low cost vaccinations, volunteer opportunities and much more. Halfway Home Pet Adoptions operates as the municipal shelter for the entire Kansas City Missouri area. As such, we receive an unfortunately sizeable number of cats and dogs each day.

Our mission is to Rehab and retrain unwanted dogs to make them more apt to be adopted and rescued. We stress the importance of spaying and neutering and pet awareness. For the love of animals, One at a time until there are none.

ARRUFF is an all-breed 501C3 non profit incorporated in 2004. Our mission is to reduce the number of dogs and cats that are needlessly euthanized at our local shelter. We also take in abandoned, stray, and wounded animals, and also take in pets that families can no longer care for due to job moves or inability to care for them properly.

Our Vision: Leavenworth County sets the standard for humane communities – becoming a place where all animals are treated humanely, and every pet has a loving forever home. We believe that: Animals are capable of pleasure and pain, and are worthy of human compassion. Humans have a moral responsibility to treat animals humanely. People want to provide lifelong appropriate care for their animals. Companion animals enhance the quality of human life. Violence, cruelty and neglect toward animals is related to violence, cruelty and neglect toward humans. Promoting compassion toward animals encourages people to treat each other with respect and kindness. Humane communities attract law-abiding, responsible citizens that contribute to the overall quality of life for all.
