Greyhound Pets of America Minnesota

PO Box 18312
Minnesota
55418
info@gpa-mn.org
Greyhound Pets of America is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation founded in 1987 for the purpose of finding homes for ex-racing greyhounds and educating the public on the suitability and availability of greyhounds as pets. Greyhound Pets of America Minnesota (GPA MN) is a Twin Cities based volunteer run organization, dedicated to rescuing and placing retired racing greyhounds. 100% of our greyhounds live in foster homes where they can acclimate to their new lives as retired racers. This process helps us to better understand the personality of each dog so that we can make the best possible match with their new family. We test each greyhound to see if they can live with small animals, and many of our fosters go on to live in families with other pets, including cats. We have great success in matching our hounds and families through our foster process.

Our Mission: To be the solution to companion animal overpopulation & homelessness from MN to Mexico by offering free spay/neuter clinics for owned and homeless dogs and cats. Pet Project Rescue (PPR) is a Minnesota based, non-profit organization that specializes in spay/neuter programming from Minnesota to Mexico, and foster-based hospice care for terminally ill MN dogs and cats rescued from local high-kill shelters. PPR’s mission is to end animal homelessness and suffering by focusing on reducing the homeless animal population at its source through our free spay/neuter clinics for animals both in our local MN community and Mexico. PPR believes that all animals deserve a loving and healthy life. In order to fully provide for animals in need we dedicate our time and energy to help animals locally and beyond by providing free vet care for low-income communities while also striving to make Minneapolis a no-kill city! In addition to our main focus on spay and neuter services, we make an effort to provide a comfortable and dignified life for animals that are generally seen as unadoptable. PPR created a hospice program in 2010, which focuses on providing foster homes for terminally ill animals that are rescued from MN high-kill shelters. These dogs and cats are our of options, but because of our hospice program they are able to have a loving family in their last days and pass with the respect and dignity every living being deserves. Pet Project Rescue has been a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit since 2008.

We envision a world where these unjustly maligned dogs share homes with kind, loving, and competent humans, where their honor can be restored and preserved. Irresponsible owners and the media have done so much to damage these breeds' reputations, and it is our goal to remedy the situation by educating the general public on how to properly raise, care for, and love these amazing dogs. And by encouraging owners to get their dogs involved in obedience, agility, tracking, weight-pulling, and therapy work. Save-A-Bull Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing of American Pit Bull Terriers and other Bull breeds. Save-A-Bull Rescue is on a short list of dog rescues approved by Minneapolis Animal Control to rehome Pit Bulls. All dogs that pass through Save-A-Bull are thoroughly temperament-tested and health-screened, and get neutered, vaccinated, heartworm-tested, and microchipped.
