PAWS is a new, small rescue in High Point, NC. We started out fostering for other organizations in another city and decided it would be a great thing for High Point to have a Cat Rescue. We love offering this local service and have been very welcomed. PAWS saves as many kitties as they can afford to take care of properly, with testing and vaccinations and spay/neuter. It is heartwarming to make the right connection between a feline and an adopter. To see the look of love from both is why we do this. As well as to try our best to save these little lives from living a terrible life of having to fend for themselves.

House of Paws Dog Rescue

North Carolina

We started out wanting to adopt a dog thru another local rescue a few years ago. Our resident dog didn't like the dog we wanted to adopt, so we decided to foster instead. Over the years we worked with that rescue, fostered several dogs, mostly puppies, and developed a profound need to help these dogs in our community.

I have almost 30 years of gsd rescue experience with my current rescue. I moved to NC from NY and need to start a new rescue that will identify me with the south and not NY. BMSR will be a small group that rescues the gsds that no other rescues want. Many are the ones that are in shelters marked 'rescue only.' I am a trainer and want to make a difference. I love the breed and understand the breed. I love to see these broken, sad and scared dogs turn into wonderful and happy dogs. I love making them healthy and enjoy seeing their confidence grow so they can have a great life. I make them good dogs and I look for homes that will make them great dogs by giving them more love and training. I am EXTREMELY particular about finding the right home for each dog based on their needs. I won't save a lot of dogs but the ones I do will get the best of everything I can provide for them. It's a calling I have had all my life. When I get too old to take the dogs with issues, I want to turn my rescue into a sanctuary for older dogs that need a loving place for their final years. I cannot imagine my life not doing rescue.

Freedom German Shepherd Rescue

Rolesville
North Carolina

info@freedomgsrescue.org
We are a group of volunteers that are dedicated to saving the lives of German Shepherds and German Shepherd mixes. We all work in a variety of disciplines to include medical, financial, animal welfare and corporate. What bonds us is our love for all dogs, specifically German Shepherds. We've all volunteered for other 501c nonprofit rescues and feel the dogs are best served by all of us working together. We all strongly feel that there are too many unwanted, abused and neglected animals that we want to work together, with shelters and the community, to help reduce the epidemic through saving the dogs and educating the public.

The Halfway House Animal Rescue specializes in saving dogs that are on their last day at the Rowan County Animal Control in Salisbury, NC, as well as abandoned, neglected, abused, and unwanted dogs in Rowan County and the surrounding areas. We realized there was a serious need for rescues willing to work specifically with this Animal Control facility, and this county. The shelter is very small and rural. Some days the shelter sees intakes of 30+ dogs and cats, who get anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks to get adopted before they have to be euthanized for space. Not only do we take in the dogs on their last day, but we also take in starving, abused, injured, and senior dogs from the shelter and local community. We are 100% foster based at this time, although our goal is to eventually have a facility. We believe that all dogs deserve a chance at a warm, safe home, regular meals, basic vet care, and love and affection. Because of this, we take in dogs that need emergency medical care, heartworm positive dogs, seniors in need of hospice care, and hard to adopt out breeds, such as Bully breeds. Please consider adopting, fostering, donating, and sharing our page to help us continue to save dogs in our community. We appreciate your support!
