Mission Our mission is to combat the abuse and abandonment of dogs and lack of animal welfare awareness in our communities. We do this by rescuing and rehabilitating dogs while equipping and enriching local communities with the educational programs, resources and hope needed to save all dogs in need. Vision A world in which animal rescue is not needed and communities value the companionship of all animals. Values Life – Integrity – Transparency – Diversity – Inclusion Who We Are & What We Do We are a diverse team of animal activists, community leaders, medical professionals, athletic trainers, athletes, foster families and volunteers. We are dedicated to saving all dogs, especially those at risk of being euthanized at high-kill shelters. We provide our dogs with medical care, behavioral training, enrichment and love so that they are prepared for a new life with their forever family. IF DOGs is the animal rescue initiative of IF by Innergy, a 501c3 that provides services and support to underserved communities in Texas and Nicaragua. Suggested quotes to share “You can measure the health of a community by the health of its animals. Rescue reaches beyond the dog and into the heart of our communities.” – Stephanie Hanson, Founder and Director, IF DOGS “When I first started in rescue, I ended up adopting on the kill list just to save them all.” – Stephanie Hanson, President and Founder, IF DOGS “No dog should be killed just because the shelter has no space available. There is always another solution.” – Stephanie Hanson, President and Founder, IF DOGS "We must remember that one determined person can make a significant difference, and that a small group of determined people can change the course of history." – Sonia Johnson "The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team" – Phil Jackson

We are a 501c3 rescue located near Dallas, TX. We rescue pups from high kill/overcrowded shelters around the DFW area and also take in dumped dogs, strays and owner surrenders. We provide all of them with necessary veterinary care and then place them into loving foster homes until the perfect furever home is found for them (we do not have a boarding facility). We will also educate the community on the importance of spaying and neutering their animals, along with other necessary annual vaccines and monthly heartworm and flea preventatives. This will include providing low cost/no cost locations around the area that they can utilize.

Our Message R.E.S.P.E.C.T Respect. It can mean so much too so many. And it’s such a simple thing. When we think of rescued Danes, we think of the respect they deserve. They are adaptable, flexible, most of the time wonderful. They fit right in to the foster homes and their forever homes, as if they had been there all their lives. And considering circumstances some of them come from, you’d think respect would be an automatic reaction. But that doesn’t always happen. Some people who are used to the standard of the Dane say it should be about the colors they come in, or the shape they are in, or several other issues. Many of us have been at the receiving end of this problem and it hurts. We love these dogs – the ones that have come into rescue and the ones we have adopted. It’s important to remember that we didn’t breed these dogs; we didn’t have anything to do with selling these dogs. We didn’t impulsively and ignorantly purchase these dogs. We just brought these dogs into our rescue program, trying to give them a better life than they had before we knew them. That’s all. No conspiracy. The fact that some of them are blind or deaf, bear scars, have blue eyes, have brindle or fawn patches, severely malnourished, Heartworm positive or need more than the average amount of medical care, it doesn’t matter to us. We don’t have a standard for rescued Danes – most breed rescues don’t. Although we do see many beautiful show marked Danes as well. All we’re trying to do is help the situation of homeless/unwanted/neglected Danes. So, in short, we make the decisions we do base on the facts we have at hand and, also, with what’s in our hearts. If you agree that’s wonderful. If you don’t, please respect our choices, but most of all, please respect the dogs.

The Humane Society of Central Texas provides adoption, rescue and foster opportunities for the homeless animals at the Waco Animal Shelter located at 2032 Circle Road in Waco, Texas. Thanks to our community and supporters, even with an annual intake of about 4,000 animals, we have attained No Kill Status, meaning that at least 90% of animals that come into the shelter leave here alive for wonderful new homes!

We are a nonprofit animal rescue that strives to end canine neglect and build a bully-breed loving society through adoption programming and advocacy. We envision a society where bully breeds are accepted, and responsible pet ownership is expected. With occasional exceptions, all dogs available for adoption through our rescue are pit bulls, bully breeds and their mixes. Most are pulled from high-capacity municipal shelters and holding pens around our state, at risk of euthanasia due to breed, age, illness, injury, behavior, temperament, or lack of space. Once in rescue, each dog is placed in a foster home, where they are exposed to various environments to gauge behaviors, responses, and triggers. This process allows us to select the adoptive placement best suited for each individual dog. As a result, we operate on a “Best Fit” Model of Adoption, where every application is processed, and the home determined best suited to meet the needs of the specific dog is selected.
