For the Love of Dogs

Tennessee

We rescue mostly small senior and/or special needs dogs. These are dogs that are most turned into shelters or left behind when family members pass away or can no longer care for them. I am 72 and have had dogs most of my life. I started rescuing after I retired from the Coast Guard when I saw such a great need for rescues due to high euthanasia rates in our area.

Red Dog Haven

Hello, I first became interested in saving dogs when I learned about euthanasia practices at the shelters. That was 2012. I started saving dogs then from shelters, bringing them home, getting them medical treatment, and later doing pet adoptions at Petco in Denton for about a year, with another rescue. Now I have a small independent rescue at my home. My husband and I do all the work and fund it all. We are set up for inside and outside areas for the dogs. We started out with the bully breeds but we are not breed specific and currently also have some littles for adoption. I do it because I can't stand to see suffering dogs, and I help whenever I can. So many are thrown away. I do what I can to make their lives better.

We are a small team of three women with a passion for rescuing dogs and rewriting their futures. We rescued 200 dogs in our first year of operation and are on track to more than double that number in our second year. We are saving more dogs than ever before, and our growing community has allowed us to take on more vulnerable cases like medical dogs and litters of puppies. We know that every dog deserves a loving home, and we are dedicated to making that a reality.

Hope For China Dogs Rescue

9000 Cynthia St #208
West Hollywood
California

info@hopeforchinadogsrescue.org(303) 667-7622
At Hope for China Dogs, we are committed to combating the cruel and inhumane practice of the dog meat trade in China. We believe that every dog deserves to live a life free from pain and suffering, which is why we are dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs who have been victims of this trade. Our mission is to provide a safe haven for these dogs, promote education and awareness around the dog meat trade, and advocate for its abolition. We work closely with our volunteers in China to rescue dogs from slaughterhouses, meat markets & trucks, and other dangerous situations, and bring them to immediate safety in China. From there we address any immediate medical needs, and begin the process of flying them to the US where we find their loving forever homes. Through our work, we save lives, end suffering, and bring happiness to dogs and humans. We ultimately hope to bring an end to the dog meat trade, and create a more compassionate world for all dogs and animals.

California

sallyfromthevalley0888@gmail.com(909) 643-9364
Our mission is to reduce feline suffering by providing housing for homeless, abused, neglected and abandoned cats rescued from municipal shelters, sterilizing stray and feral cats to reduce overpopulation, and providing necessary medical treatment. We are also a long-term facility that houses unwanted and unadoptable cats, and assists people who need help keeping their pets during difficult life situations. 11. We are a no-kill facility, meaning we only euthanize animals that are in untreatable pain or suffering from disease. Our goal is to place every adoptable cat or kitten in our care in a loving forever home. 12. Our Adoption Program seeks to rehabilitate and find homes for homeless cats. We offer services for former cat owners who need to surrender their cats for personal reasons, as well as for new cat owners who are interested in adopting a cat. 13. Our Spay/Neuter Program provides free or discounted spay/neuter services for cats owned by anyone in our service area. Our typical clients are of low-income and unable to afford these services on their own. 14. The Sanctuary Program offers free cat boarding to people who require temporary housing for their pets. Our typical clients include veterans at the local VA Hospital, individuals checking into substance abuse treatment centers, or individuals undergoing cancer treatments or in homeless shelters. 15. We have our Foster Care Network, which we use to provide temporary homes for cats in need. 16. We also fundraise and host community events, as well as offer educational classes to teach responsible pet ownership. We require new cat parents to complete a set of courses before they can take kitty home. 17. We also have a Fire Cat and Natural Disaster Rescue Program to help cats affected by these occurrences. 18. We accept all forms of donations to help us continue our mission.
