Houston Cares Animal Rescue, formerly known as Westbury CARE, is more than just a 501c3 rescue, it’s a community of animal lovers working together to make a difference for animals in Houston. What began as a small group of neighbors in Westbury, a Houston neighborhood, trying to help the animals in their area, quickly grew into a non-profit rescue because the need in Houston is so great. Despite its growth, Houston Cares has aimed to keep its community feel and is built on the idea that it will take a community of Houstonians to make change. It is estimated that there are over a million strays in Houston. We believe change will only happen through a multi prong approach including rescue, education, spay/neuter, and changes to our legislation. We believe that the more the rescue community works together and supports each other, the more the animals benefit and the more change will be seen. We are a new, small rescue based in Charleston, WV. We have been approved for 501(c)(3) status by the IRS. Currently, our rescue is run by me, Cindy Limer, and Regina Cordell. We have bee friends for 40 years and decided to go legit with our efforts. Our goal is to save and assist stray, unwanted, or abandoned cats. West Virginia has a huge problem with overpopulation and we hope we can counter this with education and public outreach. We offer a full-service rescue and are growing quickly every day with donation and volunteers. I am a Registered Veterinary Technician, so we can cut down on some intake costs by performing some tests in-house.

We rescue cats at risk of euthanasia from high-kill shelters and provide them with a safe haven where the public can engage in socializing, rehabilitating, and adopting. This brings awareness to the community about the importance of rescue.

Henderson Animal Center’s mission is to provide temporary shelter and excellent care for stray, unwanted, and homeless animals for the city, promote responsible pet ownership, protect our citizens by housing public nuisance animals brought by local law enforcement, and prevent unnecessary euthanasia by diligently striving to locate homes for every animal possible within our care. All activities shall be in compliance with state, federal, and local laws and regulations, and duties shall be performed by a humane and professional staff. The purpose of our Animal Protection is to enforce city ordinances directly related to animals, respond to animal concerns within the city, handle strays and wildlife as needed, and educate the public on proper animal care and ownership.

The mission of the Lycoming County SPCA is to protect all domestic animals by: providing shelter, emergency treatment, investigation, and prosecution of cruelty or abuse complaints; adoption and counseling; education programs; and humane care throughout Lycoming County.

We are primarily a cat rescue group for strays, abandoned, surrendered, local shelter or other cats at risk. We assist with TNR. Jenifer Brooks has been involved with cat rescue for 5 years working with Cats in Tow and MeoowzResQ. Ed Michalek has been in rescue for 17 years and is a founder, director and active with Kitty Katchers Inc (Portal # 1868)

We rescue and re-home Abandoned animals from shelters and those surrendered by the community in New York and the island of Puerto Rico since 2008.

We were formed in 1939 to care for stray dogs in the community. Over time we became a Humane Society that also handles animal control for our community. We offer adoptions, public education, pet food assistance, vaccination/microchip clinics. http://www.elkharthumanesociety.org/about-us/

Our mission is to ensure that homeless pets, pets that can no longer be cared for, as well as dogs that have no more time, come into our care and have a new outlook on life. We believe that EVERY dog has a chance at a long, healthy life full of love and snuggles. We believe in the 3 R's....RESCUE, REHABILITATE, RE-HOME. Every dog that comes into our care will be treated with compassion and respect. All of our rescue dogs are an extension of our family, and therefore are treated as such. There will be endless amounts of love, affection, and snuggles.

We are the County shelter. We have 3 dog wardens that respond to calls of strays, abandoned dogs, and respond to calls from law enforcement when there is a dog involved. We work with rescues to move dogs out when a dog is not redeemed by their owner or an owner is not found. We adopt out dogs in our shelter after their hold is up if they are adoptable.
